TFM-Hour-of-TruthSpeakers:

  • Paul Muller
  • Rick Eutsler, Jr.
  • Phillip Walthall
  • James Eutsler

Scriptures used:

  • Matthew 9:16-17

Subject:

  • If you are doing something and expecting or wanting or hoping for some sort of credit or glory, you need to recognize that you are in a bad place because even Jesus only gave the glory to the Father.
  • Obedience is better than sacrifice. We, at times, offer God a sacrifice of some kind, in place of obedience, thinking it will be a sufficient compromise, looking for a way that is easier and more convenient for ourselves.
  • You cannot please God in the flesh. It just doesn’t work.
  • Look at the motive behind the reason you do a thing.
  • Do we do things in order to please ourselves and gain glory of people to think we are important?  These are works in the flesh that lead to pride.  Pride will not please God.  The motive must be to glorify God.
  • How often do we think we are right where God wants us to be when actually we are nowhere even close?
  • God gets the glory of all good things that happen.  If God works through a person who serves Him to bring about a good thing the master gets the glory for what the servant does.  It was Gods plan to begin with.
  • What is the will of God?  To love Him and love one another.  This is the whole law fulfilled.
  • There is a problem in trying to hold on to the old existence we once had and try to add Jesus to the mix in small doses.  Our lives have to consist of Jesus only and leave the old life completely behind.
  • When you pray to the Lord are you asking him what can you do to serve him or asking him to do things for you?
  • Get your mind wrapped around the fact that you have nothing to offer to God.  We have NOTHING!  But look at the provisions that God has for us.
