TFM-AZ-Church-ServiceSpeakers:

  • Rick Eutsler, Jr.
  • Sue Eutsler

Scriptures Used:

  • Proverbs 22:6
  • Hebrews 12:11
  • Philippians 1:1-7

Subject:

  • Obedience is compliance.
    • Compliance is an act of complying with a wish or command.
    • Compliance does not mean you agree with it, it just means you do what you were told.
  • Submission is to yield, accept and consent
    • To accept is an act or fact of accepting and yielding to a superior force or to the will or authority of another.
    • Submission means you accept what you were told as correct and you go forward in obedience doing what you were told.
  • Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. That requires something of the parents to train the child up in the ways they should go… if we don’t do that, when they are old they won’t have anything from which to depart.Obedience vs Submission
  • If you choose to serve Him with gladness, then you will have it, but the choice to serve comes first and the gladness follows.
  • We are given people in authority over us who are there to show us what the Lord has for us and areas where we have not yet been willing to see where we fall short. This allows us the opportunity to choose and to turn from those ways.
  • Our authorities are those who have success in areas we do not have success in.  Just like in shooting … when you want to learn to shoot accurately and hit the bullseye you don’t learn from someone who can’t shoot, you find someone who is able to regularly hit the bullseye and you mark them and learn from them and this allows you to have a similar testimony of success.
  • What makes successful people successful? It’s not hard work, good luck, astute human relations. The one factor it boils down to is that successful people have a habit of putting first things first. Successful people do the things that failures didn’t like to do. It didn’t mean the successful people LIKED to do those things, it just means they recognized the importance of it and did it.
  • Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
  • Aim small, miss small.  That doesn’t mean aim small aim low, no, it’s about being precise.
  • God gave instructions to Moses, Moses took those instructions and gave them to the people, and the testimony is that the people did what Moses told them to do.
  • Moses had to hear and pass on the information accurately to the people.  The people then had to hear and receive the information exactly and do exactly as they were instructed.
  • Multitasking means the one thing that was most important to get accomplished, does not get done.
  • We need to receive correction and operate in obedience with faith.
  • Have confidence in Jesus Christ and His ability not your own.
  • God has not brought us here to fail.
  • Choose to believe God.
  • Success in this world means nothing as this world will go up in flames.  Success in the Lord is important.  If we have success in the Lord here, we can have it in heaven.
  • Philippians 1:1-7  God brought us here to be victorious.  By faith and grace we are saved.
