TFM-South-CarolinaSpeakers:

  • Paul Muller
  • Phillip Walthall

Scriptures used:

  • John 17:11-20
  • Colossians 3:1-3;17-24
  • Psalm 51
  • 1 Corinthians 13
  • 1 Peter 5:7

Subject:

  • Jesus did everything the Father commanded Him to do.
  • Are you going back to the old ways or are you attacking it in a different way? Are you presumptuous in the things you do?
  • Stop asking why!
  • When that word of correction or advice comes your answer should be yes sir no problem.
  • If we can’t love one another how are we going to go out and minister the gospel and love others outside? Put the Lord first and foremost and he’ll give you the direction to love others. If you can’t love Christ you can’t love one another.
  • Do you want to be a friend of Jesus? You’ll love him and keep his commandments.
  • Are you really dead? Have you truly put off your old man?
  • Putting the flesh down is a choice, it’s a choice the Lord has given us. He gave us His spirit to overcome the flesh.
  • Admit you need help and that your heart is dirty.
  • Are you honoring the Lord’s way? If we’re not honoring His way, we’re not loving one another.
  • Don’t deceive yourself into thinking you’re alright when you aren’t. Get honest with the Lord, yourself and with one another.
  • You are showing them what Jesus looks like, what a servant of Christ looks like.
  • Our children receive understanding about the character and nature of God by how we reveal it. Our children learn who God is by how we reveal him to be. Are you revealing who God is to your children or are you revealing yourself to your children?
  • Begin taking your job and role seriously.
  • Desire for your children to be in terror of the Lord, not in terror of you. You can’t save them or send them to hell but he can. It is his choice that we get to know him, his choice to to extend grace and mercy to us so that we can extend it to our families and others.
  • Opportunities to love may not feel good all the time.
  • It should matter to you what matters to your children. They should see you as a sober minded, even tempered, compassionate, having empathy, ministering the love of Christ.
  • All fathers will reveal “a” god to their children. The question is: Which one?
  • Submission is a choice, it’s an agreement with those that have rule over you: It’s about agreeing with the Lord’s ways.
  • Obedience is about learning to please the Lord.
  • Are you making your children hopeless? Make sure they understand you’re in the same shape they are, deliver them the hope you have in the Lord, not the hopelessness that there is in the world.
