  • Matthew 17:14
  • Ephesians 6:13-18
  • 2 Timothy 2

Subject:

  • God should reign in our hearts every single day.
  • Put off the garbage that is our flesh.
  • Praise him every day no matter how we feel because he died for us on that cross.
  • Who? We separate ourselves from the love of Christ, this is where the fight is. We have to put it off.
  • We – those who choose him.
  • You may not be a soldier that carries a gun but even the nurses were in the military. You can be a healer.
  • We have to receive the love of Jesus, it is a choice.
  • The kind of faith you need is the perseverance of a mustard seed. It may take it years to break through but it won’t quit.
  • You have to have that faith to do the work the Lord is calling you to do.
  • Above all take the shield of faith that can quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
  • You can have that faith that can move a mountain.
  • Jesus loves you, he does not want you to fail, stand strong.
  • There was a king of Israel whose pride was great. He showed the world all the great things, the gold. The enemy came in and stole the gold and the gold shields in the temple. Instead of getting on his face and asking God to forgive him he made shields of brass.
  • What quenches fire? Water. The baptism you received in water was not a baptism of repentance, that’s brass. It was a baptism into the body of Christ, that’s gold. As long as you are seeking repentance and your faith is based upon whether you feel you are forgiven or not you will operate with shields of brass which will not quench the fiery darts of the devil. If you have the shield of gold, which is the water of that baptism into the body of Christ, then you can stand firm in the grace of God and know that all your sins are forgiven and know that, being in the body, have the very power of God. Then you will have that faith as a grain of mustard seed. To have that faith is to reject the world, you have to reject the world.
  • Be strong in the grace – you can only do that when you are standing in your faith in the body of Christ. You cannot do that when standing in the world.
  • Sometimes the hardness you have to endure is your own self. It’s your pride, your selfishness, your flesh wanting its own way, to do its own thing. It’s judging others with an unrighteous judgment according to the flesh and not a judgment according to God. It’s seeing someone do something that you don’t approve of or you don’t think is right and you resent that person or that thing. How do you know that’s happening? Sometimes because the body will tell you – you’ll get weak, feverish, faint, dizzy, sick, and there is no physical reason. Not every time a person gets sick but when there is no physical reason. Your body is suffering from your own pride, your own judgment. But if you rebuke that pride, rebuke that judgment and stand firm as a soldier of Christ and taking the shield of faith which is of gold and not the shield of brass. The shield of gold is God’s righteousness. The shield of brass is your own righteousness. Take that shield of gold and you can defeat that enemy and be well.
