TFM-Wednesday-Womens-Bible-Study

Speakers:

  • Robin Atherton
  • Ann Eutsler
  • Karen Hocker
  • Megan Atherton

Scriptures used:

  • Psalm 34

Subject:

  • A Psalm that David wrote early on in his fleeing from Saul. David gives voice to his habit of seeking the Lord and trusting the Lord.
  • A man who turns unto the Lord in all things at all things and at all times. He looks to the Lord for everything.
  • A psalm of praise to a God who is there.
  • This is how we should live, as we look unto the Lord and see the benefits of it. A God who cares for us.
  • If we look to the Lord in all things then He gets all the praise in all things.
  • Because God answers, David makes his boast in the Lord.
  • Boast: giving glory, celebrate and rave.
  • The Lord is the truth in our lives, He is there for us in all situations.
  • When we step out and praise the Lord it is encouraging to others to do the same.
  • Blessing the Lord at all times will be easy if our focus is on Him. Where is our focus? We need to be about His business.
  • This can’t be true if we don’t live our life focused on the Lord and doing His will.
  • God is calling those of like faith to rejoice in the  mighty hope they have in God. They are blessed and lifted up, their hope is increased.
  • David knew the Lord was there. Because David went to  the Lord with all his fears and the Lord delivered him of them all.
  • Sometimes you have to get mad to get rid of the things that are not of the Lord. Seek the Lord and He will deliver us from all things against us in our walk with Him.
  • Be on guard of against those things.
  • If we will seek Him, there He is again as our hope and deliverer. If we don’t seek Him and put our mind on Him those fears will overcome us.
  • If we turn our face toward Him there is hope again, when it is on us things seem hopeless.
  • His desire is to set His people free. Our hope knowledge and freedom can grow because of that if we will.
  • When we look to the Lord no matter what, we are lightened and not ashamed. God is faithful.
There is no shame in putting our trust in the Lord.
  • David sets himself knowing he is a poor man not thinking highly of himself. We need to be humble before the Lord. If we are not humble we won’t hear.
  • David was humble in serving God, which was to stand up and be King.
  • Serving God in service to others, taking that place in the body that He has called us to . He has made us clean so we need to go forth in Him and stand. The blood of the lamb is what has put us in that place where we can go forth in what the Lord has called us to do.
  • Those who are His are in Him. The heavenly hosts are with them. David gives testimony on all sides he is protected. All of those who are in Him are protected.
  • We need to have a fear in which we are moved to serve and believe and not be moved in any other thing that is contrary to His word.
  • David understood it was not his place to destroy Saul, it was God’s place. Again David trusted the Lord in all things.
  • Our job is not to judge the damnation of a person, to stand in the truth and not accept a lie is a whole other thing.
  • David didn’t take judgement into his own hands, he gave it to the Lord.
  • We should judge things according to the word. Be careful not to bring judgement on a person and condemn them.
  • Provoke those who speak not the truth to search the word.
  • David in contrast to Saul was afraid not to serve the Lord. Saul wouldn’t serve the Lord.
  • We serve a God that is big enough and able to show us the way and to guide us through. How can there be anything but blessing in trusting God and letting Him have His way?
  • We can not serve God, keep our heart and mind stayed on Him or go after being a part of His body without fear. We have to recognize that God is Holy!
  • There is no want to them that fear Him!
  • It is for more that just that in the natural. He will provide ALL our needs! We must seek the Lord. He is an answerer of prayer, He is available.
  • How to fear the Lord: don’t speak evil, guile. Speak the truth. Depart from evil, we aren’t motivated to depart from evil without a fear of the Lord.
  • When He shows us something about ourselves we have got to do it. Do good. Seek peace and pursue it. Go after it.
  • The righteous are those who trust, believe, and look fully to Him. He hears them. His eyes are upon them watching over us.
  • It’s that Abba Father, He loves His children.
  • There is a remembrance of those whom God was and is with like Abraham.
  • God is a loving father.
  • Being righteous is being in right standing with God.
  • He is near.
  •  A broken heart is that place of utter need.  Contrite is to be destroyed or crushed. A recognition of the truth.
  • Righteous person; humble, not ashamed, fear God, trust in Him, they seek Him in all things. They are all about the Lord and that is what makes them righteous. They know their need for the Lord in everything. They’re thankful for the Lord’s provision for them.
  • Bond slave; he who has given up his will for the will of his master.
  • The Lord’s servants won’t be desolate, the evil will all be desolate.
  • May we seek the Lord while he may found, and learn to hear and do that which He has shared with us.
