Scriptures used:
- Luke 22:54 to Luke 24:31
Subject:
- The story of Peter and his denying Jesus.
- Jesus on His way to the cross with the chief priests, scribes, elders and people all blasphemously coming against Him.
- They continuously lied in their justifications as they accused Him.
- He didn’t answer them because His work was done. He was now going to do His Father’s will.
- Herod and Pilate became friends that day. A sad day for both of them, as they came together against Jesus.
- There was a political struggle between the two concerning Jesus and how to handle the situation.
- Pilate sends Jesus to Herod, and Herod sends Him back to Pilate after mocking Him and arraying Him in a gorgeous robe.
- Pilate gives in to the people to control the situation. Jesus is sent to be crucified and Barabbas, a murderer and thief, was released unto the people.
- They laid hold on Simon, a Cyrenian, to bear the cross after Jesus.
- People lamented Him but He told them to weep for themselves and for their children, because this isn’t anything like they are going to see in 70 A.D.
- Jesus came with love, longsuffering, and salvation for them, and they wouldn’t receive it. They rebelled and railed against Him instead.
