Subject:

  • Be not concerned about whether or not you think you are fit to preach the word of God.  Let God take care of that.  All you need to do is open your mouth and speak and let Him deliver His message through you.  No one can testify of Gods word better than God himself.
  • God is able to do for us things beyond what we could think or imagine to ask for.  Think back throughout your life and think about something you just knew couldn’t happen for you or that you would never be able to get or have because it seemed beyond possibility looking at it from a natural perspective and then it happened or you got it one day.  Think about what the Lord has made possible that seemed impossible.
  • What keeps us from asking for something, whether from God or someone else, is pride.
  • How do you know if you like something unless you try it?  So many times we decide we won’t like a thing for all kinds of reasons but never try it.  The same goes for Jesus.  So many people refuse to turn to Jesus for all kinds of reasons and have no idea what they’re missing out on simply because they won’t even try turning to Jesus.
  • God wants to be your deliverer.  That’s what He wants to do is deliver you from worry, fear, torment, guilt, depression, bondage, etc.  God does not cause these things, we cause these things ourselves, God is the one who can deliver us from them.
  • Paul said in the book of Romans that we glory in tribulation.  WHAT!  Let’s read that again.  We GLORY in tribulation???  How often do you see anybody glory or be joyful during times of trouble?  That doesn’t seem to make any sense.  But think about it for a minute.  One of the things that God wants is for people to know that He is real and is there for us.  One of the ways that happens is when there is a time of trouble.  It gives God an opportunity to work in that time and deliver us from it in ways we didn’t think were possible, sometimes referred to as a miracle.  If we never experienced tribulations, and God never had those chances, what would ever convince us that God exists and be able to show His goodness for us?
  • God is not a respecter of persons.  God does not care about who you are or what you are.  He is not concerned about how rich, poor, pretty, ugly, tall, short, fat, thin, hated, well liked, smart, stupid, old, young, successful you are, how big your house is, how nice your car is, how big your family is, how many people like you, how much your family loves you or anything else about you.  God can work with anyone to get them turned around to learn to walk in faith and love and become one of His for eternity if one desires to have that.  Also, it means that God is not impressed with you just because you have a few of these things either, after all, God is the reason we have anything at all to begin with and God is the one who created it in the first place and God is the source of all knowledge that people have.  So what credit can we give ourselves for anything that happens?
