Subject:

  • Pride has never been a good thing. Pride is what caused the fall of man by which God cursed the earth. Pride is what we are born in and why the world looks the way it does. Pride is what keeps us from God and keeps us from seeking God and obeying God. Pride is why we think too much of ourselves and think we are right about everything and better than others. Pride has never served anything but self.
  • Christians must be of one accord  and of one mind. All speaking the word of God. If you ask one hundred Christians the same question you should get the same answer. Unfortunately, that is not the case. You would probably get 90 different answers because there are too many different teachings out there among churches. There is one God, one word, and one Gospel. There should be only one answer.
  • Peter said to honor all men. Some might say that a lot of men deserve no honor. But that is not the point. If you honor all men that is an attitude of being humble. Being in a place where you can look up at everyone else is a place where you acknowledge that you are no better than anyone else.
  • Look around you and see what others may be in need of. Putting your own wants to the side and tending to others. Putting others before self.
  • Jesus left His divinity in heaven and was born a flesh and blood man just like anybody else. He did only what the Father told Him to do and said only what the Father gave him to say. People will often say something like “Well, that was Jesus. I can’t do what Jesus did.” That is not true. The point of Jesus walking as a flesh and blood man was to show us that we indeed can walk as he walked. In fact, He commands us to walk as He walked. The Holy Spirit that worked through Jesus, because of His faith and obedience to God the Father, is why everything He did worked and His words were always true. It is the Same Holy Spirit that we can walk in also. Walk in faith and obedience and you can do all the works Jesus did.
  • Everything that Jesus did during His ministry on the earth was an example to all of us of how we should be walking this earth also. He showed us how to react to every situation, what to say in every conversation, how to treat others, and what it looks like to love others. That is what believers ought to be about – His way, not our way. Being the body of Christ in His absence.
  • Put God first in everything, then others before yourself and put yourself last. What the world will teach you and how we tend to operate as people is look out for number one putting yourself first, help others if we feel like it or as long as we like them, and God usually doesn’t even show up on the list at all. People operate 180 degrees contrary to the way God would have us operate. All it is is an attitude adjustment.
  • It is reasonable for us to give up our lives to serve Christ. He gave up His life for us. Someone loved you enough to bring you to Jesus, it should be a joy to us to do the same thing for someone else. To be transformed by the renewing of our minds. To have that new mind about Jesus. Some may call it “brainwashing” but that is kind of the point to having our brains washed because they are dirty and full of pride and are conformed to this world instead of being conformed to God.
