Subject:

  • Although it is true that we are sinners and have nothing to offer of ourselves remember that we can offer Jesus to others. There are many people who look at themselves as being so awful and useless that they don’t see that the Lord can still love them and use them for His good. Once you receive Jesus you are not to stay in that place and remain useless. Go forward in Christ and make use of the life He has given you. On the flip side of that you may think so highly of yourselves that you have no need for Jesus. Both attitudes are equal in pride and will lead to the destruction of your soul.
  • The most common thing people do to justify themselves as being good is to compare themselves with other people who have done worse things than they have. It’s not about what somebody else did or didn’t do. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the whole world. No matter what people do or did we are all in the same boat. SINNERS! You are as much of a sinner as anybody else and there is only one way out of that sin for everybody, the blood of Christ to wash it away. Such a person as Adolf Hitler is a common example of the type of person to compare themselves with by thinking, “Well, at least I’m not like Hitler”, or, “I never killed anybody.” You are not saved today because of what Hitler did seventy years ago. The word tells of people who were guilty of murder who went to heaven and there are many who went to hell who never harmed anyone. Whether or not you killed somebody is not the line drawn in the sand if you’re saved or not. Did you believe Jesus or not. That is where the line is drawn. And that is between you and God alone. It does not matter who else did or didn’t.
  • People really show their faith by what they do not by simply what they say. Anybody can say a thing but to actually do it is a whole different story. If you say you are a believer then the things you do will show that you are. If you have been converted and believe Jesus and yet there is nothing in your life that looks any different than before then something is wrong.
  • A lot of people want to keep their lives and add Jesus to it. It doesn’t work like that. Either you are 100% for God or you’re not. You have to completely get over the fence to be on Gods side of it. Being on top of the fence and trying to find middle ground won’t work. If you don’t make a choice at all as to which side of the fence you want to be on then you have already made the choice to be on satan’s side of it by default.
  • God is the creator of all things in Heaven and in earth and by His power and grace do all things consist and maintain form. Scientists are continually trying to find out why atoms don’t fly apart or how it is that planets are able to float in space and some of the other things that seem to be a mystery to man. They simply do not believe that it is God who keeps it all together and moving. If people would believe in God there is nothing to figure out.
  •  The fight we must fight is not after the flesh but in our minds. And the weapons used are not carnal weapons but the mind being focused on the obedience of Christ. You use the mind to choose to reject everything that comes against God and choose to cast it away. By our wicked works were we alienated and enemies of God in our minds, but having made peace by the blood of Christ are we reconciled back to God.
  • The church IS NOT the bride of Christ. The church is the body of Christ. The believers, the people, the members that make up the body. The bride of Christ is that holy city of New Jerusalem. That is made clear over and over and again and again by Paul the Apostle and by John in Revelations.
