Subject:

  • Be a doer of the word not a hearer or speaker of the word only.  They that do the will of God will be the ones who enter into His kingdom.
  • The Lord will not meet you in a place where you are not following His instructions.  Do things the way the Lord says to do them, it is to glorify His name not yours.
  • To walk as Jesus walked is doing what God would have you do.  Jesus is the Word of God.
  • To serve others is a joyful thing because it is of the Lord.  The more you serve others in the Lord the happier you will be.  Jesus even served the disciples by washing their feet.  It was an example to them, and us, to do what he was doing – serve others.
  • It is a great joy to know that Jesus took what we deserved on the cross because dying ourselves doesn’t do a thing for us.
  • Seek God first and all other things will fall into place.  There will always be that fight we need to fight each day but Jesus teaches us in the gospel how to do that and the first thing is to look to God first and seek His righteousness and all things that we need will be provided.
  • When God gives out grace, love, and mercy upon you, you need to give those things out to others.  Don’t keep them to yourself.  God pours them out to you for the purpose of sharing with others as a testimony of the goodness of God.  If you don’t share with others, God will not see a reason to keep giving to you.
  • When Jesus walked the earth He experienced everything that we experience in the flesh.  He knows all about what it is like to be a flesh and blood man.  He understands what we go through.  Yet, he walked without sin and showed how to deal with everything perfectly.
  • Allow God to correct you and receive it because it is for your good to get rid of the garbage that keeps you from being close to Him.
  • Set your affections on the things of God and not on the things in this world for the things of this world will pass away but the things of God are eternal.  God can do for you what the world cannot.  Also, it teaches us to have an affection for others and their needs instead of our own.
  • A servant is not greater than his lord.  As Jesus was rejected so will you be rejected if you are doing His will.  What happened to Jesus because of His works will happen to you.  You are not going to be above those things happening to you.
