TFM-Hour-of-TruthSpeakers:

  • Paul Muller
  • Phillip Walthall
  • James Eutsler
  • John Squires

Scriptures used:

  • 2 Timothy 2:1-4

Subject:

  • We choose our emotions.  If we are angry, mad, offended, or whatever else we can come up with, we have chosen to feel that way.  Yet, we will then blame someone else for “making” us feel that way.  People will say and do all manner of things to us, and yes, there is a responsibility on their part but, regardless, we can choose to be joyful, happy, and thankful because of what Jesus has done for us.
  • This is not easy nor is it the choice of the flesh but it is possible to choose joy in the Lord over anger in the world at any time.
  • It really is a joy to have the opportunity to serve another rather than to serve yourself.  To receive the Lords blessing for taking the time to put aside ‘self’ and seeing someone else be blessed to get what they need is just plain cool.  By serving others we then show the love of Christ in us and that’s what a minister does, serving others.
  • The ability to look good or sound good or “look holy” is useless.  The ability to confess that you are not worthy and are completely in need of relying on the blood of Jesus and His ability  is what actually means something.  That will get another persons attention of what is really important rather than just standing there looking good and blowing your own horn.
  • A minister is on the job 24/7 to serve God.  Not only on Sundays or during office hours at the church.  Jesus gave His all for us, we are to give all of ourselves to Him all of the time.  Isn’t it a bit odd to hear the term ” Retired Minister”? If you have been called to be a minister of Christ, at what point does one get to retire?
  • Jesus is the answer!  How often are we faced with an issue or problem that we are not sure how to deal with and we don’t think about the answer being right there in front of us?  Jesus always has the right answer.
  • When you repent and ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins He does forgive us, it is gone and forgotten.  Why would you want to continue to dwell on it, continue to feel guilty about it, and hang onto the past and the misery that is in the past.  If Jesus forgets about it, why won’t you?  Grace covers sin.  Stand strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus!
  • When the Holy Spirit moves upon you to do a thing it is very important to do it quickly.  If you hesitate or don’t feel like doing it the consequences may be disastrous for you or for someone else.  You will only hear the commandment if you are walking in the spirit.
