TFM-Hour-of-TruthSpeakers:

  • Paul Muller
  • Phillip Walthall

Scriptures used:

  • Romans 12:1-2
  • Philippians 4:9
  • Mark 11:22
  • John 8:12-59
  • Philippians 4:5

Subject:

  • Even though we are walking around in this fleshy body we need to learn to rule over it in the spirit instead of letting it rule us.
  • We are to present our bodies a living sacrifice.  Our bodies are alive but, we are to set it aside to serve God, which is our reasonable service.  After everything God has done for us, and Jesus willing to die on the cross for us, it is a reasonable thing for us to do.
  • The flesh has an overwhelming desire to justify itself.  Nonetheless, it is Jesus who is the only justified one.  The flesh is a big, fat lair.
  • God has given the same measure of faith to all people.  God gave us faith so we could believe Him.  But, what do people put their faith in instead of God? (Self, money, education, family, friends, career, other gods, government, etc.) Where have you placed your faith?
  • All things that Jesus did – healing the sick, raising the dead, preaching the Gospel, casting out devils, He did to glorify the Father.  He always pointed people to God and His mighty power.  As believers, we are to do these same works for the same reason.  To glorify God and bring people to Him, not to get people to think something of you.
  • The Lord is at hand.  As God the Father was with Jesus, the same He will be with you.  Right at your side.
  • Satan is a liar and the father of lies.  Satan was a murderer from the beginning and there is no truth in him.  Satan is unable to be truthful, all he can do is take the truth and twist it into a lie and try to convince you to believe it and deceive you.
  • If God is your Father, you will love Jesus, because Jesus proceeded forth from God and was sent by God.  If you love Jesus you will obey His commandments.  If you love not Jesus, then you serve Satan.  Reject Jesus, you are also rejecting God.
  • He that is of God heareth God’s words.  Not only to hear with the ear but to perceive and understand His Word.  Also, to heareth means that if you hear something you will want to find out more about it and learn from it.
  • Jesus was never about glorifying himself, for He had no pride in himself, He was always about glorifying the Father.  Jesus only did what his Father gave Him to do and He only spoke what His father gave Him to speak.  He did nothing of Himself therefore He gave not credit to Himself.
  • Jesus was the example of the goodness of God when He walked the earth.  There were those who saw it and believed, but grievously, there were all too many who rejected His message about the goodness of God because people want their lives and their salvation to be about their own goodness.  This is the pride of life that keeps us from God.
  •  What makes you think a King would let you walk into his kingdom based on your own opinion that you deserve to?  Would you let someone just walk into your house, knowing that they were not good, but you let them in anyway simply because they told you that you should because they thought themselves to be good?  NO, you wouldn’t.  Why would Jesus, the King of kings, let you into His kingdom based on your own opinion of yourself as being good when He knows we’re not?
