TFM-Northfield-VermontSpeakers:

  • Steven Atherton
  • Robin Atherton

Scriptures used:

  • Joshua 5:13
  • Deuteronomy
  • Psalm 37
  • Hebrews 4
  • Hebrews 11

Subject:

  • We need to get into the Joshua age.
  • There is no God like our God.
  • This is the God we serve … Joshua’s God.
  • Fret means angry.  Be angry and sin not. You don’t have to stay angry.
  • Do you believe that there will come a day when the evil doers will be cut off?
  • A believer takes God at His Word and believes Him.
  • Delight means to be pliable and allow Him to have His way in you, knowing that all His ways are only good.
  • Commit my way unto The Lord, my ways are not His ways.
  • Faith means entering into the rest of God, trusting His works and not our own.
  • We have a marvelous hope in Christ Jesus.
  • Labor against unbelief.
  • Abraham believed God.
  • All God asks is that we believe in the unchangeable Word of God.
  • We have Abraham as an example of faith, a choice to believe God despite not seeing or even understanding Him or His ways.
  • Upright conversation is a walk (not so much talk) of faith.
  • Abraham said he did not perceive the fear of God in that land.  (Genesis 20:11).
  • Abraham believed there was no good thing in him, because he believed God.
  • We are to believe God.
  • Are you going to believe God?
  • Seeing Jesus lifted high is not about being in the right place at the right time!
  • Seeing Jesus lifted high is going out into the world, preaching the Gospel, laying on of hands and doing the things mentioned in Mark 16:18.
  • Manna ceased because they were of greater faith.
  • He was not there on their side or the adversaries, he was there on the side of The Lord.
  • V13 is Jesus coming on behalf of The Lord.
  • Joshua’s lord was Moses.
  • He knew that the same thing was said to Moses (Exodus 3:5).
  • Joshua recognized his fault and humbled himself before The Lord.
  • Envy is of those who have more of things of this world, not less.
  • The only way you can do good is to trust in The Lord.
  • When we come to The Lord it’s not in any goodness within us.
  • If Jesus is the rock, you don’t get off it. When you envy people in the world you step off the rock because you can’t be on the rock and have the ways of the world too.
  • Fall on your face before The Lord.
  • If you are a Christian you are a seasoned and trained soldier (disciple) who can deal with any situation before you.
  • Confront the enemy you see and determine not to let the enemy stand. You kill it and destroy it.
  • If you don’t kill it, it will bring reinforcements and it will overcome and conquer you.
  • We don’t want to be the children of Israel who died in the desert. We want to be the children of Israel who crossed over.
  • You choose what you believe … You will never FEEL like serving The Lord.
  • Your carnal mind will never serve The Lord, so stop trying to convince it.
  • A worker of iniquity is one who walks claiming to be a Christian and does not choose to walk in faith.
  • Call upon The Lord and he will help you and strengthen you but he will not do it for you, you have to make the decision.
  • I am astonished at the grace He has for me. I know I struggle every single day to walk in the faith.
