TFM-Northfield-VermontSpeakers:

  • Steven Atherton
  • Carrie Cannon

Scriptures used:

  • Romans 5
  • Romans 6

Subject:

  • We need to be instant in season and out of season.
  • When someone needs us to minister, we need to be ready.
  • Fret not because of evildoers.  Fret – this is an anger that builds up inside, causing envy and hatred.   That is giving place to the devil, and your flesh loves it.
  • It’s a fight daily.
  • There are people going through tribulations here.  Everyone has their struggles.  Thoughts of unbelief overcome us.
  • Abraham stepped out, the things Abraham had to deal with were overwhelming – but the thread that tied it together was hope.
  • Our faith in God is tried daily.  We envy the evildoers because we see our struggles that they aren’t having.  We are justified by faith, not man.
  • We have peace with God, not man.
  • Some men of God who walked by faith:  Enoch, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph – they all had conflict with the world. If we’re going to have peace with God we can’t expect to be at peace with the world.  We have peace with God BY Jesus Christ, not us.
  • We receive the free gift of grace through His blood.  There are 2 witnesses here – we are justified by faith and have access by faith.  It will separate those who believe from those who don’t.
  • We stand in His grace, not in ourselves.  We rejoice in hope in the glory of God.  By faith, a choice.
  • War is a battle of wills.  We have to grow more determined in that fight.  When you get tired you want to give up.  When we ask Him for help He will move.  Ask Him to strengthen you to do His will.
  • Tribulation worketh patience – Abraham as an example.  Did he falter?  He struggled to believe.  Patience refines and works a perfect work in the Spirit.  With experience, we can help others along with their struggles.
  • Tribulation will separate those who love God from those who love themselves.
  • Preference for God is perfected as we deny ourselves and choose to cleave to Him.
  • This is the work of the Holy Spirit; to the flesh it is death.
  • Romans 6:  Should we continue in sin that grace may abound?  The physical body is just a house.  When you die to yourself your soul and spirit need a home – in the body of Christ, by faith.  How we get presented to others doesn’t matter.  We need to stand in faith in what He has done.  This requires humility.
