Subject:

  • Part 2
  • When we have fallen short we try to figure out a way that we can fix it. The fact of the matter is we cannot do anything about it but trust Jesus.  We try to figure out how we are going to do it, where are we going to get the money, how we will I find the time. Where is there room for Jesus in that?
  • We are able to over burden ourselves with way too many things we should not even be thinking about, we can fall into that trap.   Jesus is big enough to handle all of these things for each and every one of us. Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee – If we are going to be walking in a place of faith and follow Him, that is exactly what we need to do.
  • The blood is the life.  When Cain killed Abel God said his blood crieth up from the land.
  • It was through the blood of Christ the remission of sin came about. Without the blood there is no remission.
  • This body cannot inherit the Kingdom of God because it is cursed by the curse that was put on Adam and the world because of sin.
  • The key to all of this is the blood.  The blood of the vine we call sap and without the sap the branches cannot live.  By being connected to the vine not only can the branches live but the branches can bring forth fruit. If we be connected to Christ not only are we washed clean by the Word and washed clean by his blood and are forgiven but we live by his blood. Without it we are dead though we may look alive for a season.
  • This is something we have to consciously by faith do. We have to consciously consider ourselves dead to this flesh and alive in him.  We consciously live in him and partake of that life that gives us life.
  • We get older, we get frail because our bodies are no longer connected. But our spirit and soul can be connected by faith in Jesus Christ, but we have to do it his way.
  • Jesus was only given authority to save the eleven disciples. There is a line of authority being drawn.  You cannot be joined to Christ unless you believe their word.  Jesus did not physically write these words.  John did by inspiration of the Holy Ghost.  It came from God through Jesus to John to us.  He has set up a way for us to recognize the vine. Jesus is the head or root of the vine.
  • Down through the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers can we therefore be connected to that vine.  But if we reject these things how can we be joined? We can’t. And yet there are very few churches today that believe there are apostles today.
  • There are apostles today, some chosen by Jesus as he chose Paul, some grow into apostleship like Timothy and Titus did.
  • The body of Christ is alive and its ever growing and if you be a part of that body you should be alive and ever growing.   The churches are full of babies and they never grow because the churches they’re in are not joined to the body of Christ.
  • There are a lot of pulpits filled by preachers telling people where to go, they never took the time to get there themselves.
  • There are a lot of Christians telling people where to go and never been there themselves.
  • How can we grow in the Lord if we not be a part of that vine and a partaker of the blood of Jesus?
  • We are to exhort one another, to encourage one another to stay in the body, to stay in that vine that we may partake of the blood of Jesus Christ.
  • What is manifested in heaven is manifested, seen, on earth.
  • As it is in heaven there is a thing on earth – there’s a likeness in heaven, there is a likeness on earth.  If you can be cut off from grace in heaven you can be cut off from the grace on earth. How is this done? By being cut off from the vine.  How can we be cut off from the vine? By forsaking fellowship.
  • People cut themselves off from the vine.
  • It is our nature to justify ourselves.  When we get offended because somebody tells us something we don’t want to hear and we leave the fellowship or discipleship we cut ourselves off, we’re counting the blood of Jesus as an unholy thing.
  • We cannot live without the blood of Jesus, we cannot survive without the blood of Jesus.  Without the blood of Jesus we are dead, we have no hope.  It is only through that precious blood that he shed and gave for us that we can have joy, can have hope.
  • Pray that you never turn away.  Pray for others who have turned away that somehow they can be grafted back in the vine.
  • Be an active, living part of the vine.  There’s more to being part of the vine then just hanging on it.  We are to bear fruit.
  • The way to bear fruit is to partake of that life of that vine as much as you can and how you do that is by humbling yourself before God.  Get rid of that pride that so easily besets you and let him bring you up.
