TFM-TexasSpeakers:

  • Richard D. Eutsler, Sr.
  • Scott Bishop
  • Bob Hicks
  • Melanie Bishop

Scriptures Used:

  • Psalm 51
  • Proverbs 3:25-26
  • James 1:8-25
  • Romans 10:17
  • 2 Timothy 2:1-4

Subject:

  • We need to be washed thoroughly from our iniquity (pride & sin) then turn from it daily if not hourly, constantly.
  • Sin is not against people it is against God.
  • The Bishops prayed asking the Lord to take care of whatever the problem was and to protect their baby, and went to the midwife and heard everything was fine.  Later they were told a test showed a one in 15 chromosome defect that would kill the baby.   “Be not afraid of sudden fear”.   They prayed for the baby to be delivered of anything wrong with it or deliver Melanie of the baby if the health problems were there and were not going to be reversed.   They prayed for a baby and God will not give a defective baby to them in answer to their prayer and they put it in His hands.   They thanked the Lord for handling it.  They  will believe Him and his promises.  Satan in his pride is not going to win.
  • People generally do not believe God but go with Satan saying  “I have this thing” or “this baby’s going to die” etc, joining themselves to the lie.
  • The Lord is our confidence and our hope is in Him.
  • If you hear and do not do, you open yourself to a self-deception.  Hearing is not enough.  Faith comes through hearing and must be accompanied by action.
  • We need to look truthfully at ourselves and let the Word of God show the true condition of our heart.  If we hear then walk away not adding what was shown we deceive ourselves by not applying it and we will be worse off than when we started.
  • If you hear something and it hits home, think about it and change.  A doer undertakes seriously, intent on moving forward and gets themselves right with the Lord.
  • A doer asks God to show what you need to get right with Him.  We sin against God not man, David shows God is loving kindness.
  • Put into practice what you hear in the Word of God.  The Lord wants doers not pew warmers, which will you be?
  • Movies like the one about D Day and Pearl Harbor showed the soldiers were totally unprepared for the attack though they had all the information to know it was coming.  A telegram did come from Washington, but only later, telling they would be attacked but it was not sent as “priority”.
  • The sailors stood open mouthed in unbelief as they watched.   The church is the same.
  • To be strong in the grace means you have a choice, strong in the law in which you judge everybody but not yourself and usually according to yourself not the law, or in the grace of God, the tree of life.   To be strong in the grace is the Tree of life, totally immersed in what Jesus did on the cross, the promises He gave that He will raise us up with Him.
  • “Faithful” is the key word in Mark 16.   Preach to every creature, preach the gospel not preach the mysteries of God.   The letters in the Bible are to the church not to unbelievers.   The church needs to understand the mysteries of God and how they operate.   Paul tells Timothy to preach and teach these mysteries to the faithful men who can then teach others who already believe.
  • Jesus went on the way to Jerusalem through Samaria and His face was set like flint.   Good   soldiers faces are set like flint on the job set before them not whining and crying.   In a war and in an army you have a line of authority and it takes one person in the line to change the order to cause the death of everybody.   Not obeying causes irrevocable damage to other.
  • Endure hardness goes back to what God said to Joshua “Be strong and very courageous”.  At times your flesh wants to react in a certain way and you would like to shoot them (that is the flesh,) but if I’m going to be strong in the grace of Jesus Christ it means that I not only walk in that grace for myself but it means I walk in it for others as well.   Sometimes to do that you have to endure hardness.    You have to keep the eyes focused on the prize and what the mission is, which is to give forth Jesus Christ to those around you.   If we are to serve Him as He wants us to serve Him we have to be about His business and His desires not our own.
  • How do you tell if you are entangled in the things of this life?   When you are corrected in a thing do you respond by justifying yourself, defending yourself or making excuses?   If you do then you are entangled in the world.   If your heart was set to serve God and to do that which He wants you to do, then the things of this life would not matter, and if you did something wrong and you’re corrected, you praise God for correction and move on.  If you didn’t do anything wrong and the person that was correcting you was mistaken, you praise God because you got accused of something you didn’t do, just like Jesus!   What good is it if you do wrong and you’re corrected and you fight against it?   What reward do you have?   But if you are corrected for something you did do and you take it with meekness and grace, enduring hardness as a good soldier then your reward is great.
  • If you be of Christ, if you receive Christ as your Lord and Savior you are automatically drafted in the army of God you can not be a Christian and not be a part of God’s army.   I know Jesus has shown me and what Jesus Christ has taught me.   If you are going to be a Christian you will, and are, drafted into the army of God and you will have to learn how to walk in obedience in that army.   If you can’t do it in this life what in the world makes you think you’ll be able to do it in the next?
  • Here we have grace, here God’s grace abounds but when you get to heaven there is no grace if you sin there is no sacrifice for sin there, the sacrifice for sin was given for us here and God’s grace is upon us that we can learn through that grace.   We make mistakes even though we do all kinds of things, He gives us opportunity after opportunity to learn to walk in obedience to Him.
  • Some men teach that they’re “under God”.   If God shows you something about them and tells you to tell them, when they say they will “have to go and ask God first”, tell them that will be too late they’d better go through Jesus Christ first.
  • The Lord told Richard to say “Thus saith the Lord” to a minister once:  “Take your hands off my people or I will require thy life.”   The man laughed at him but within three days the man had a heart attack.   If he had understood the law of authority he would not have died.
  • God’s grace covers (so far) a repentant heart, God’s grace covers a humble spirit but a rebellious, disobedient, self-righteous heart and spirit it can not cover.
  • To be strong in the grace of the Lord one must daily humble himself/herself to the Lord.   How to do that?   You just go before God and say:  “Lord I humble myself before you.”   Get on our knees.
  • God said not to murder because man was made in the image of God, and when you kill the image of God, you are attacking God.
  • David said: “against you, thee only have I sinned”.   His sin was killing Uriah, committing adultery with Bathsheba (who were His people).  He sinned against God because Uriah was made in the image of God and they weren’t David’s people, they were God’s people.
  • How do you learn to be humble before God?  You learn by practicing with one another!   You learn by practicing being humble with one another.
