Subject:
- Scott came to the Lord as an older person, and the ways of the world had always worked for him.
- He found he was wrong, and the house in his mind had broken glass. But there was more to be broken than just glass.
- Everything in the world then paled in comparison to the Lord.
- He could act the part of being in the fellowship. The Lord would then show him things about himself that were bad.
- The blocks in the house then begin to fall away bit by bit, and there is more light getting in.
- As a natural man, you are always restlessly looking for things. That is covetousness.
- Get in your prayer closet and don’t let go until you get it.
- There is a way in to God’s rest. When you get done doing your own works and start doing His works.
- If you dig into this Word with diligence the light will come on for you.
- Doing your own works is pure vanity and pride. When you enter into His rest, then it testifies badly of you but glorifies Him.
- People these days don’t teach anything but self esteem, I see people who think they do things well when they don’t. Jesus didn’t have that problem. People used to learn things through apprenticeship. The 11 disciples learned by doing what Jesus did after being shown how to do it, called discipleship.
- Some were disciples by an apostle, some were discipled by a teacher, some by a prophet.
- Jesus commanded us to be perfect in the work of the ministry. You will receive correction and be thankful for it. You can do this because God is perfect. Our ways are not perfect.
- Discipleship requires discipline. That’s why out here in the world education fails. They say nobody is perfect.
- If you want to learn to walk in the Lord, you have to go through that discipline. Those in the seminary don’t do that, they think they are great and of God and they don’t even know they are not.
- There is one faith. We have to strive to be that perfect man. There are many members of that perfect man.
- To perfect people in the faith you have to be hard with them. You do that because you love them.
