TFM-Northfield-VermontSpeakers:

  • Steven Atherton
  • Carrie Cannon

Scriptures used:

  • Proverbs 3
  • Psalm 48

Subject:

  • I’ve been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb.  It is so easy to lose sight of that.
  • We have to remember in the midst of our frustration with others, that we are redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb.  There’s nothing about worthiness.  It doesn’t matter.
  • Being filled with the Holy Ghost has nothing to do with our worthiness.
  • Peter, a while after he denied Jesus, received the Holy Ghost.
  • Peter went forward and people were saved.
  • We can do all things as long as we remember our righteousness is not our own.
  • We do have the covering lifted so we can learn our mistakes.  The grace covers us while we learn.
  • As the Lord works with us He begins to expect more of us.  In that place we give up and make excuses for ourselves.  We are too stupid, bad, etc.  That is a lie out of the pits of hell.
  • The grace of the Lord was there to redeem you before you ever began to screw up.
  • We don’t have to stand in that place of defeat.
  • Every single day the manifestation of God’s grace was with the children of Israel despite their failings.
  • When they went into the promised land, the food was cut off.  It’s very interesting that the Lord did that.  They were then expected to do for themselves.
  • Their first battle, the Lord crumbled the walls of Jericho.  They then had to do that transition to doing for themselves, and the battles got harder.
  • Do you only praise God when He has done something for you?
  • A sacrifice of praise costs you something.
  • Paul and Silas praised the Lord in the prison and the prison doors were opened by the Lord.
  • We have to bring that sacrifice of praise.  We have to choose and believe and confront the situation we are in.  Lift that situation up to the Lord.
  • When you lift it up to the Lord, you step out and deal with it and trust Him.  It’s amazing how those situations are dealt with and you are delivered.
  • Sometimes it takes decades.  But the fact is that He is beautiful for situation.
  • Don’t let the situations around you be the things that rule you.  Look at them as opportunities.   We are not diminished in these situations.  His grace covers you.  No matter how much you screw up.  Look at David, for example.
  • The only hope is the Word.  Have no confidence in ourselves but in Him, the Word of God.
  • When you do that, you are trusting in the Lord with all your heart and not looking unto your own understanding.
  • The process you go through to get to that place is not very comfortable.
  • He sends us the Comforter.  When we lift it up to the Lord and the Holy Ghost moves to deliver you, and you are comforted in that God is still with you.
  • Our own understanding is awful!!  If we judge by our own understanding, we will judge wrongly.
  • When we fail, we hope yet in Him.  We step out in faith and He moves, and we have a testimony.
  • It’s all about the grace of God.  We walk by faith, not by sight.
  • We have to stand wholly by faith in Him.
