Subject:

  • Things that hold us back from moving forward in the Lord. One of them is guilt.  Guilt festers and sits in your mind.  We need to overcome that guilt.  We all have “skeletons in our closet” that make us horrible.  Each of us is horrible.  We need to get over that.
  • When Paul met Jesus, he, but moved forward boldly in faith.  He acknowledged he was a sinner in need of a savior but he didn’t let guilt from the past hold him back.
  • Trust and receive the Gospel and receive the redemption that Jesus paid for.
  • To love God is to believe what He said under every circumstance.
  • God provides all our needs in His grace.  We should acknowledge it as His provision.
  • The Lord has given us a great body of evidence in His Word and our lives and yet we don’t choose Him.
  • We have been an unbelieving and gainsaying people.
  • Love believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, it does not fail.
  • Through obedience we will learn His love so we can give it out to others.
  • Everything in our flesh is going to war against His Word.  It’s my turn to believe God and put off the flesh.
  • Fear is present if we give it place.  It’s our choice.
  • Fear to not do the will of God!
  • The stories in the Bible are true stories of people’s lives.
  • These revolve around two points:  Believe God and walk in love, first to God, then to one another.
  • The body of evidence of what testifies against you is B.S.!  It doesn’t have to do with what we can do, but what God did.
  • When you would do good, evil is present with you.   The evil heart of unbelief takes over.  It happens all the time.  It’s about time we get tired of giving in to the evil heart of unbelief.
  • The battle each of us face:  we end up agreeing with doubt and unbelief and deciding not to walk in the confidence in the promises of God.  We want God to pull you out so you don’t have to choose to believe God.  That is avoiding responsibility of faith.
  • Paul experienced this just like we do.  Paul confronts it that with the mind he serves the law of God.  Not the law of Moses, but the law of faith in Jesus and His sacrifice.
  • Do I believe the testimony of my past up to now and puts me in condemnation?  That is unbelief, God tells us not to agree with that.
  • The old man is not changing, it tells us to forget about him.  What difference does it make who he is and what his nature is?  God did not die for that old guy.  The inward man that delights after the Gospel is what Jesus died for.
  • There is no condemnation.  We are a child of God.  What greater accolade is there?
  • Then you can minister to others who don’t know.
  • If you walk after the flesh you have chosen to believe the old man.
  • To those that believe the Gospel, they are not under condemnation.  Those who don’t believe the Gospel are.
  • If you will believe, everything you have read and hoped for, and everything you have wanted to partake of, is yours.
