Subject:
- Walking in the Spirit.
- The Gifts of the Spirit: The interpretation of Tongues.
- The tongues come from the Lord, from the Spirit, they are authored by Him. The interpretation is given in a language we can understand.
- When in the body, speaking in tongues should not be done unless there is an interpreter.
- It is easy not to hear the instruction to pray for the interpretation, so that we can bear fruit in our understanding.
- The purpose is for the edification of the church, it is the working of the body for the edification of itself. That includes all the gifts.
- How often do we come to church ready to edify and minister to one another?
- We should come ready in the Lord in all things to minister the hope and the truth and the gospel to one another building each other up in the faith.
- There is an order and respect and it comes from the obedience to God.
- This is the word of God and we need to hear it so we can do it.
- Robin goes through the gifts and shortly defines them.
- We just need to pray and ask the Lord for a gift. We can even ask for one we would desire.
- Also being prayerful about having a gift.
- They are not given to build anybody up. Jesus came and was the servant to all and the gifts are given to use for other body to serve others.
- If we are seeking a gift to make our self more holy or puff ourselves up, forget it, God’s not going to give it to you.
- Speak what we know, not what we don’t know. Also know the the Lord will give you what you need in all things for His purpose.
