Subject:
- Discussion of Jezebel, and Miriam, and the difference between their ends.
- Jezebel was a woman who went against the Lord and His prophets and never repented. She rebelled and never submitted.
- She stirred up wickedness and her husband Ahab went along with it, he didn’t stand in what was right.
- You cannot know the word of God and think you can stamp out a life and stop the Lord.
- Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord.
- The prophecies of Ahab and Jezebel’s ends and the fulfillment of them is discussed.
- Miriam was Aaron and Moses’s sister, of the tribe of Levi.
- She was a woman of God and she and Aaron rebelled, they found a reason to justify their pride.
- The Lord allowed her back in after she was sent out as a leper for 7 days.
- This is an important testimony – it is a warning not to be lifted up, and secondly, a testimony of God’s mercy that restored her.
- Miriam learned her lesson and it was hard.
- The story of Miriam is also a lesson for us to learn to submit to the line of authority.
- The story of the 12 spies in Numbers 13, and how only two believed and went forth is discussed.
- The story of Korah in Numbers 16 is discussed. How they rebelled knowing who God was, but were lifted up.
