  • Robin Atherton
  • Charles Hocker
  • Scott Bishop
  • Karen Hocker

Scriptures used:

  • Psalm 145
  • Hebrews 5: 12 – 6:3
  • Luke 11: 33-35
  • Luke 12: 31-32

Subject:

  • The Lord is wonderful and to be praised.  How easy it is to lose sight of His gifts and to be unappreciative.
  • Our job is to call upon Him in truth.  How much love He expressed on the cross.  He is near if we just call upon Him.
  • Calling upon His name in truth is the opposite of calling upon His name in vain.  Not because we want Him to fix something but because we love Him.
  • If you have the desire in your heart to call upon Him, all His promises are true for you.  When you see you fall short pray that the Lord will show you what you need to purge and ask His help and ask Him to do a mighty work in you.
  • The only thing we can give to the Lord is our faith and then He purifies it.
  • Why do we need his purifying?
  • We enjoy being babes in Christ but we need to take the responsibility to learn and be teachers of the Gospel.  The Lord wants us to be perfected.
  • We have to move beyond the milk and the recognition that Christ died for us and saved us from our sins, though not forgetting it either.
  • We can be nourished by milk for a while but need the meat to be strengthened to move forward and be purged.
  • If it was only the milk we were to receive we would not have the meat of Paul’s writings and the rest of the New Testament.
  • You partake of the meat of God and then you understand His ways.  When you have the meat you will be able to give answer to people who ask questions.
  • If you are going to reject the Gospel because of some unknown you are never going to receive the Gospel.
  • You cannot be strengthened and perfected if you don’t move off the milk, you will not be able to understand the trying of your faith.
  • Moses had a lot of purifying to go through but he reached it and was perfected.  Our goal is to have self boiled out of us so we are able to stand in heaven.  The meat gives you understanding of dying to yourself.  God will not permit sin in heaven.
  • We have to stand and fight the fight for the babes until they can stand for others.
  • We are at the point where we have to start eating the meat or we run the risk of not being strengthened for the battle.
  • Cain and Abel – Abel called upon God in truth, by the blood of the lamb.
  • Two kingdoms, the kingdom of this world and the kingdom of God.  Christ’s blood opened the way to all who will believe to exit this kingdom and enter His kingdom.  He is King and we are subjects.
  • To pass through and be purged starts with trusting God.
  • You hear the complaint of man blaming God for everything.
  • We all fall short of the glory of God.  We compare ourselves to each other which is wrong.  When we compare ourselves to God we recognize ourselves as evil and then we see our need.
  • We stand and proclaim Him when we stand in the sufficiency of the blood.
  • Jesus if the light.  When we stand in Him we allow him to work in us.
  • We are in His body.  Ask everyday to be translated unto His body and then all the promises of God are yes and amen in Christ Jesus.
  • The answer will never be about pride.  The meat is to walk in His truth and learn the ways of God.
  • We don’t go forth because we have a confidence in never falling but we go forth because we have a confidence in God.
  • Sight is where our feelings lie.
  • Seek you the kingdom of God starts with a fear of God.
  • It is your father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.  Let us go forth as people who believe.
  • It doesn’t matter how we look, it matters how He looks and when we stand in the Gospel He looks mighty good.
