TFM-Wednesday-Womens-Bible-Study

Speakers:

  • Robin Atherton
  • Ann Eutsler
  • Karen Hocker
  • Megan Atherton

Scriptures used:

  • Philippians 2:1-17
  • James 1:17
  • Revelation 3
  • 1 Kings 17

Subject:

  • There is an abundance of consolation, comfort, love, fellowship of the spirit, and bowels of mercies in Christ.
  • The mind that Paul is calling them to, is the mind of Christ which Paul had joined himself to and the call is there for all who are Christ’s.
  • Only by Pride cometh contention.
  • Honor all men and esteem others as greater than ourselves. When we realize who we are it is easier to do so, coming from the place of lowliness of mind.
  • Be watchful for opportunities to serve and look upon the needs of others. The Lord has given us what we have yes as a blessing for us, but also to bless His body. What we have been given is the Lord’s, not our own.
  • All good things come down from the Father of Lights.
  • Those who we don’t esteem, we don’t tend to take the time to listen to.
  • We are not obligated to give everything we have away, but be willing to give things or do things to bless another.
  • The things we have should be for use in service to the Lord. It is easy to hold tight the things.
  • Be like minded in the mind of Christ which is obedience to the Father, doing only what the Father said to do.
  • Jesus was a servant  he did it perfectly, and is the call of God on all His children. David also was one who was about service to God through serving the people.
  • Jesus was patient and continues to be, that is why we all have a chance.
  • If we know the gospel and the grace that is available, we can continue in Christ’s mind. The Lord is able to raise us up if we will.
  • We are supposed to love Him with all our heart, strength and mind.
  • There is nothing that is greater than the name of Jesus!
  • Every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus is Lord!
  • Being a servant is something that has become in this country, and other places, not taught as a good thing. It is a good thing.
  • We have a choice who we are going to serve, a loving, gracious God or one who comes to steal, kill and destroy the devil.
  • Just because we may give testimony from our mouths that we know who Jesus is does not mean we will be saved.
  • It is because of Him we have a hope to enter in.
  • We are called to die to ourselves and if we do not, then we are not in Him. That is how the Lordship of Jesus Christ is found.
  • People must confess Him before they die.
  • Just because you confess at the end does not mean they will be saved, because there is no faith in that confession.
  • Jesus came to manifest and glorify God, period!
  • John the Baptist’s ministry was about a year and a half, he only came to identify Christ.
  • Where is our faith? Whatever we put our faith in, that is our God!
  • This is the training ground that we may be exercised in the faith so that we may be able to stand with the Lord when we go to meet Him.
  • Even if we don’t want to do the things we should do, we can ask the Lord to give us the will to His good pleasure. It is a humbling thing to know that the God of heaven is working in our life! Thank God for doing that.
  • When we pray believing, we need to stand up and go forth knowing that the Lord is there. Don’t just sit and wait.
  • Take a step in faith and if we take a wrong step He’ll show us. That is how we learn  to hear His voice. If we know the word, we will know what is in accordance with it.
  • When we consider that we are of no reputation then we can do things with joy!
  • We can not be His son or daughter if we are going to dispute with those He has put over us to direct us in His ways.  Also can not murmur and complain about His provision but should be joyful and grateful.
  • The world is dark, without Jesus the world is dark. We are to shine as a light in Jesus by doing those things a servant would do without murmuring and complaining.
  • Be like a stationary lighthouse standing in the same place which would be in Jesus.
  • Our standard has to be the Word of God.
  • Our light is in the Word of life.
  • There was evidence that what Paul did was not in vain. In the place of humility the Philippians walked in obedience. Paul gave them a word to obey, whether he be present or absent do it!
  • We need to have the ears to hear to continue in the Lord, He gives us the will and the to do!
  • The grace, mercy and forgiveness is not there to be used in slack. There is accountability for what we know, we must move forward in what we know to do in Christ. Do not let anything stop us!
