Subject:

  • Colossians
  • If ye be risen with Christ; when we go under the water we are buried in the likeness of Christ’s death and when we come up, we are translated into His body and die to our flesh. By faith we enter into being risen with Christ.
  • We can say we are in His body, but if we are running around doing our own thing, we are hardly dwelling in Christ’s body.
  • It is not a following of vain traditions, it is faith in the operation of God.
  • It’s there for each and every one of us if we will come in to agreement with what God says.
  • Affections are things we like, we care about, things that matter. Christ is one we should set our affections on over all else.
  • Affection: to exercise the mind, it is not our feelings. It is things we choose to prefer.
  • Those who will believe and receive, their lives are hid with Christ in God.
  • Many people say they are Christ’s, but don’t live as thought they have chosen Him.
  • It is not just a confession of Jesus being our Savior, but when He becomes our Lord.
  • Earnestly: meaning really wanting to do a thing. With all our strength love the Lord our God.
  • When we take up His life it will be manifest we are His.
  • He will appear in the battle of Armageddon and put down all the enemies.
  • Mortify or kill your flesh, if we would kick a corpse it would not respond, that is what it should be like with our flesh. It should be dead to us.
  • Uncleanness is being ruled by our appetites in the flesh.
  • Inordinate affections is the opposite of temperate. Being ruled by  what is going on around us. Subject to passion or lust. Wanting something we shouldn’t have.
  • The children of Israel only wanted to go back to Egypt, they were not at all greatful and did not set their affection of the things of the Lord but on things of the world.
  • Set our affections on Jesus and not what we’ve given up or lost.
  • Idolatry or covetousness means to never be satisfied. There is no lack in Christ, covetousness is giving a testimony that God is not enough. Putting things above Him.
  • We need to recognize what the Lord has given us is good and what we don’t have we don’t need.
  • There are three different lusts, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.
  • We can serve Him in any place we find ourselves. We need to consider all things good in Him. We will not be able to serve Him if we keep making excuses. He has to be our answer and be happy He is our answer.
  • Sufficient to the day is the evil thereof. Each day has it’s battle, work it out today, choose Him to day, and every day.
  • There is no excuse, it’s only that we haven’t done what we have been counseled to do.
  • Are we the children of disobedience or the children of obedience? Where are we in obedience to His ways?
  • Before Christ we were children of disobedience, all our ways before Him were bad.
  • Everyone of us has things we have to put off, we all start at ground zero in Christ bringing nothing but we need to be willing to let Christ fill us.
  • Disobedient means unbelief, if we believe we will obey.
  • We have got to be about His business and get this right.
  • Content in Christ is a joyful place, he supplies all our needs according to His riches and glory.
  • How often do we get angry and hateful to another?
  • When we go to fellowship who are we going to fellowship with? People who are going to give the truth or those who are going to make you comfortable with where we might be? We should desire to be around those who would give us the truth.
  • There is nobody who was more wronged than Jesus Christ and he asked that the people that wronged him to be forgiven.
  • True knowledge is God’s ways not ours.
  • The Word is the revelation of Him that He has given us, we need to come to know it as it was given.
  • We don’t lean unto our own understanding or our own interpretation, God gave us apostles and prophets to perfect our knowledge so that it is accurate and true.
  • In Christ we are ALL free and we are ALL in Him. It does not matter our position. Christ died to save ALL, in Him we are ALL one.
  • How could we judge a child of Him, someone He is in?
  • We all bleed red blood, we are all the same. The only difference is believe Jesus Christ or don’t. When we believe Him, we come into conformity with Him.
  • We cannot move forward in Him and represent Him rightly unless we come into conformity with Him.
  • As the elect, those who were predestinated, we are to put on bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.
  • Who do we think of when we are doing or getting things for another person? Are we desirous to do others benefit? Being a blessing to another?
  • Humbleness of mind is not thinking much of our self and therefore there is nobody we think less of.
  • Everything we have is freely given, unearned and undeserved, how could we look at another and begrudge them for anything. We need to be able to see how we are, then there is no place for high mindedness.
  • Don’t filter the word through what we want it to be, we just receive it. If we will, His grace will show up and His rightness will be shown.
  • Take care of each other not holding anything against anyone or holding anything over their heads.
  • Be quick to ask forgiveness and quick to forgive. Be at peace with one another.
  • The same love God has for us, is the same love we should have one for another.
  • Christ forgave us of everything completely, without reservation. We are to do the same.
  • If we are not merciful then why should God be merciful to us.
  • Robin gives testimony of a man who killed an identical twin and asked forgiveness and Corey Tenboom’s forgiving of a soldier.
  • Forgiveness forgets, it doesn’t matter anymore.
  • The peace is the peace treaty we accepted by the blood of the lamb, we need to let that peace rule in our hearts. Le that place of freedom rule in us which was brought to us by Jesus dying on the cross.
  • To let  the word of Christ dwell in us richly.
  • Grace trumps everything, it gives us a hope and knowledge to stand in. We need to minister that one to another. We are saved by grace not by works..
  • Our whole stand in Christ is by faith in what He did, our whole joy in Christ is by faith in what He said. It is all about Him, He did it all and it is all there for us. The only way we can do it is by that grace.
  • He is longsuffering to us because He loves us. We can sing with grace in our hearts because of Jesus.
  • Do all we do in the name of the Lord Jesus.
  • Be thankful to have the opportunity to minister to another, there is no greater thing in the world than the love of Jesus Christ!
