Subject:
- Being in obedience to an authority over you is a place where God can honor the situation to work it out. Even when you are certain that you are more knowledgeable than they are in a thing, if you try to do it your way anyway it will fall apart on you. It is Gods way of teaching us to obey authority regardless of what we think about it. A thing done in obedience is a thing that God can get to work out, even if it wasn’t the best idea in the world or it shouldn’t have worked looking at it in the natural, to show us that it is right to do as we are told. It is about submission to God and being humble.
- God will resist a person working and operating in pride. If you are resisting God, then you are not resisting the devil as you should be.
- It’s all about your attitude when you start worrying yourself about your abilities to do something. You choose to let the Lord show you the opportunities that are there and avail yourself to His opportunity to show you His faithfulness and to show other people the grace and mercy that has been bestowed upon you in such great fashion. Even a screw up like me can be His minister and a minister of His goodness and a carrier of His grace who can act as an umbrella over those who don’t know Him.
- When given instruction to do something, as uncomfortable as it may be, stepping out in faith and doing it is a place where God can meet you, and accomplish it to bless you and those around you.
- Blessed is a person who trusts in the Lord. Trust God if you want to be blessed. Give Him an opportunity to show how good He is, by obeying Him.
- To fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. There is no want for those that fear Him. There is protection for those who fear Him.
- When Jesus was in the garden praying (John 17) and He prayed that the Father would not take them out of the world, there was a need to keep them here to go forth and preach the Gospel that Jesus taught them so that others would hear it and it could be passed on to generations forever.
- We need to flip the switch from all about me to all about Jesus in order to get anything accomplished. It’s good for you and your family and your co-workers and anybody else who comes around you. It changes everything.
- God is faithful to forgive us our sins, but, one of the bigger problems in the world is people don’t think they need Him. People generally believe that they are “good” people and that everything is ok and they have no sin to forgive. If you truly believe God’s Word to be true then you had better get it through your head that you are not “good” and not ok. All have sinned and need His forgiveness. He loves you, you idiot!!
- God’s grace is everywhere on earth. He causes it to rain on the just and the unjust and causes the sun to rise every day for the sakes of all people whether they are believers or not.
- Even with all the tribulations and infirmities Paul the Apostle went through, which was more than most people who ever lived on this earth, he still gloried in these things because it gave God a chance to show His goodness in deliverance.
