- Meekness doesn’t strive, striving is not meek. Strife means to argue. Meekness brings peace.
- Abraham stood in meekness when Lot and his herdsmen were striving and when other men were taking the wells that he had dug.
- There should be no place for striving if we are trusting the Lord for our provision.
- A good question to ask if we are striving is, Why are we striving?
- Moses stood in the Lord through all that came against him, trusting the Lord.
- The Israelites did not exercise themselves in faith in God’s provision and refused to see that it was good.
- Meekness is standing in what the Lord has us to, even though we may not be accepted.
- Moses walked by faith in service of God and all he got from the people was grief.
- Moses dwelt in the safety of the salvation of God.
- Korah came against God. Moses stood in the Lord through His judgement on Korah and those that stood with him.
- The things that Moses did was to provoke Israel to turn to the Lord.
- Moses didn’t lift himself up above the congregation of the Lord, the Lord lifted did.
- Meekness doesn’t justify itself.
- Hannah, even though the other wife of her husband was mean to her because she was barren, she chose not to return the meanness to her. She took her complaints to the Lord. She didn’t rail or strive.
- She kept her word to the Lord and gave Samuel to the Lord.
- David stood against and killed the Philistine Giant that defied the army of the Living God.
- Faith is a choice and David chose faith through out his service to the Lord. David did not avenge himself, he trusted the Lord to keep him. He was dependent upon the mercy of God not thinking he was better than any other. He also did not justify himself.
- We have to choose the right, the wrong is naturally in us.
- None of us are without fault.
