Subject:
- The gospel shows us the power of God, the goodness of God, and His ability to raise Jesus from the dead. It is the same power that heals people and moves mountains. If you read the gospel and receive it as the truth you also can walk in the power of God.
- Any situation in a day, great or small, can be a testimony of God’s power working and the goodness of God working for your sake. The power of God was not just for Jesus 2000 years ago and that was the end of it. God is alive and available just as much today as ever before for anybody to partake in it if they choose they want to.
- If you can’t trust God in your everyday life about the little things, how are you ever going to trust Him to raise you from the dead the day your heart stops beating, or have the faith to meet Him in the clouds the day He returns if it is before we die?
- We ought to glory in tribulations because when things go bad and we turn to the Lord and cry out to Him and see Him move for our sake. We then have experience that the Lord is good and His power is operating here and now for others to see also.
- You may have no idea who God is or have any experience with God or even believe that God is real. But if you are in need of help in your life with ANYTHING, all you have to do is call upon the name of Jesus for help and it will be enough.
- A very popular phrase that some churches preach is “once saved, always saved.”Look very closely at the gospel, especially Matthew, and you will find that, even though it sounds good, it is not true. Just because you received Jesus is not a guaranty. You always have choice, and a person may choose someday to reject Christ as fast as they received Him, or they receive Jesus and think that’s it and never learn what it means to serve Him or actually get to know Him and find out just what needs to happen to truly get saved.
- Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only. A believer is to be doing what the word (Jesus) tells us to do not just sitting in church for years listening to someone else run their mouth for an hour or two and think that is going to work out in the end.
- If you will but choose not to love your life unto the end, it will be worth it.
- The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes! If you don’t believe that, it is worthless to you.
- To believe Gods word is the same message from the garden of Eden, even now, and through eternity. That message has never changed and will not change.
- It isn’t hard to find yourself in a pity party and feeling sorry for yourself when you encounter some hard persecutions from those who hate you for the gospels sake, and wonder if it is really worth it. But look, Paul the Apostle also knew that leaving the world and going home to Christ was a far better thing but He also recognized that being in the world for a bit longer was an opportunity to continue doing what the Lord would have Him do. What the Lord would have us do, and that is to share the gospel with others so they could hear about the love and grace of Jesus.
