Subject:
- Walking in the Spirit.
- The Fruit of the Spirit.
- Love.
- Temperance: Self-control and moderation in appetites
- It’s easy to put people who may seem more important in the flesh, with plenteous in worldly things on a pedestal, and think they are better then you.
- It is necessary that we be more watchful, lest we fall into that temptation.
- Daniel was moderate in his appetite and passions. He exercised self control.
- The testimony of Daniel not wanting to eat meat does not justify being a vegetarian.
- Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ. …Imitating Him in all things! That is the call for us who call ourselves Christians.
- Those who strive for a mastery has temperance in all things because they are focused on achieving that mastery. Like an athlete for example.
- Temperance also is being the thermostat not the temperature.
- One would run with patience that good race. This is something we have to do, no one else is going to do it for us. All that the Word of God says, we can do it in Him. It is all a choice to take that responsibility and do it.
- A corruptible crown doesn’t satisfy.
- Our joy is not based in things, then the lust aspect of it departs and we are not driven by them.
- When we stand in a moderate way in the presence of people, God gets the glory. It is a testimony of His character.
- The Lord is at hand, he is right there. We can do all things through Christ which strengthens us.
- Be sober minded and be ready at all times. We live in the light of Jesus Christ we are not in the darkness any more so let us there walk.
- The promises of God are true. Obedience is based on the fact that we believe him.
- Be temperate in all things. Word, actions, resting etc.
- We say we believe and our testimony, our walk needs to show evidence of our belief. Walking in temperance will show that.
- Holiness is something that can be seen by others, we choose behavior that becomes holiness. It is faith and obedience first to God and it is expressed to others.
- The choice seems sometime difficult to choose the things of the Lord, but we need to put off the old man and choose to serve God.
- That which we do by faith in obedience to him is not without it’s rewards.
- Virtue: Manliness, excellence, strength and courage.
- Knowledge
- Temperance: self control
- Patience: Cheerful and hopeful endurance.
- Godliness: Holiness
- Kindness
- Charity; love feast, feast of Charity
- If ye do these things ye shall never fall, knowing the truth and continuing to stand back up. To never fall away.
