Subject:
- My hope is not in this life. It is in Jesus, who overcame the grave.
- Delight thyself also in the Lord and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart
- What we are doing in this life is anything but delight.
- The problem is with you if you don’t delight yourself in the Lord.
- We want to walk as Jesus walked, but then when we’re given something to do, do we delight ourselves in it?
- None of the commands in Ephesians, are conditional. It is a commandment.
- We make these things conditional, to justify ourselves in not doing it.
- You are the double minded man when you want to add to your life all the things of God.
- We need to decide our will does not matter.
- Steve still after 24 years, has no desire to be a lawyer, but he asked the Lord to give him joy in it, and He has!
- Steve is moving to west Texas. It is not a thing he is drawn to. It doesn’t matter, his life is not his own.
- Joseph in Egypt for example. Is that a sob story? No! Could Esther be a queen if she were all about herself? Mordecai raised her up as a believer, and she didn’t whine and cry about the unfairness of it.
- Now let’s look at us. The amount we say I don’t want to do this. Our actions speak louder than words. It’s preferring the things of this life over His life.
- You can’t be part of the Body and delight yourselves in things of this life.
- None of the things of this life hang onto Steve because of the prime directive: love the Lord thy God with all thy mind, soul, heart and strength.
- It is a wonderful life that Steve is thankful to be a partaker of.
- We are to care not about the things of this life. We are to set our affection on things above.
- Despite the attitudes we have, He still has His grace on us.
- Abraham Isaac and Jacob were His 3 servants.
- They sacrificed it all and didn’t receive the promise. Now we have received the promise and we still want to do our own thing. That attitude will not get it done.
- Stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry: idolatry of yourself. Rebelliousness as the sin of witchcraft.
- The flesh doesn’t want to do things of the Lord, but the Spirit doesn’t have anything to do with the flesh.
- He will give us the will to do His will.
- Get past yourself, and recognize yourself for who you really are: all about yourself. Deny yourself, and God will move.
