TFM-TexasSpeakers:

  • Richard D. Eutsler, Sr.
  • Scott Bishop

Scriptures used:

  • Hebrews 12:1-13
  • Matthew 22:37-40

Subject:

  • When we fall short we can sing a song as a prayer for help.
  • Doesn’t feel good to be chastened and scourged.  It does show that the Lord loves us so don’t run from it.
  • Prefer to be a son not a bastard.
  • If you want to endure this chastening and this scourging you are going to have to strengthen yourself in the Lord and trust Him for what He’s got for you.
  • King David’s sin was ever before him  and also Israel but he stood fast in the Lord’s righteousness.  Let us all do the same.
  • We need to love the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind and forget about the flesh, it ain’t going to happen.
  • You can’t love our neighbour as yourself if you don’t love yourself, or how you love yourself is how you will love you’re neighbor.
  • Do you love your flesh or do you love your soul?
  • How you love yourself is how you will love your neighbor but do you love yourself the flesh or do you love yourself the soul?
  • How much do you love your soul, enough to only want the best for it?  Do you love your soul and your spirit and your mind enough to want to have fellowship with God not only in eternity but how about right now?    Do you love your soul enough that you will do whatever it takes to ensure eternity with Christ?
  • We feel the flesh we don’t feel the soul and therefore our love is always turned towards the flesh and because it’s turned towards the flesh it is imperfect and not right, it’s selfish and prideful.   The flesh is all about us and what makes us feel good.  It’s not about what is good for someone else, it’s what is good for me in the moment, at the time.
  • Jesus said we have to endure to the end to make it.   Enduring means trusting, believing, having faith in Him and what He did and can accomplish in you.
  • He can accomplish things in you that you cannot even imagine, that are beyond your ability even to conceive but it starts with loving yourself, not the flesh self, because that is going to the grave, going to corruption and is constantly dying, but loving that self that was reborn by the blood of God, by the blood of Jesus Himself.
  • When you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you are reborn by the blood of Jesus and the power of God and it is that person you have to love.
  • Learn to love that person then love others with that same love.  If you love others with that same love you are going to want them to have that same knowledge of God and the understanding of God’s love towards them and you are only going to want good for them.  Then you are obeying the second law.
  • After singing about build your house on the rock and get all excited, I ask the question why don’t we build our house on the rock and get all excited and telling everybody that Jesus Christ is King?   We are stopped by unbelief, lack of faith in God, knowing we are not worthy of that grace and that love, worried about what other people are going to think of you.
  • We need to set aside the things that beset us and move forward.
