Subject:

  • Self Righteousness.
  • One of the most fundamental things we need to address if we are going to walk in the Lord.
  • Two reasons; one we don’t have any and the the other it is contrary to the very gospel.
  • The things we esteem as good or highly in this world are an abomination in the sight of the Lord.
  • When you try to justify yourself among men you are taking your eyes off the things of the Lord.
  • The ways of men are not the ways of God and He is not pleased with them.
  • When we stop and think about how much we stray from the word and what we were told to do, we will realize how much we need grace.
  • If you are tied to your notions then you are walking in self righteousness.  Just because you have a notion, doesn’t mean you have to choose to agree with it.  We all have notions, but we don’t have to choose to side with them.
  • By faith you can overcome. The walk of faith is one where, throughout our walk on this earth we need to learn to hear the word of the Lord and do it.
  • We have a lot to learn and a lot to be shed of. When it is shown to you shed it. Shed it when you are shown!
  • Being a sinner is not going to cease in my flesh, but to allow the Lord to change my spirit that is where we need to be.
  • Naturally where I am is contrary to the word of God. But I can put it off and get from the hopelessness in me to the hope I have Christ.
  • When you think you know better than the person who has authority over you, that is self righteousness.
  • Do you ever sit down to pray and your mind will start to wander. The same happens when we are told to do a thing, that is not keeping our minds stayed on Him. You can seek to hear and do. We can press on because through Christ, not in us, we can get this right.
  • We fall short.
  • Self righteousness justifies itself and thinks it’s right. Humbleness presses on in hope.
  • The way He has set it up is obedience through  those over us.
  • Step out in accordance to His word and become dependent on Him.
  • If you will know the word of God and get it in you,it will work a work in you. Not a work that will make you feel better than anyone else.
  • We’re really here to bring Him not ourselves. Let’s learn to do it. Recognize that we’re not special. We do bring a Savior.  We’ve got the best thing if we will allow Him to be our all in all.
  • Do you feel the salt from the word of God? It holds that corruption back in us.
  • When we will overcome and experience the victory we can stand in that same hope to minister to another. Our only righteousness is in believing the gospel.
  • Come just as we are to the Lord. When we get in to self righteousness we somehow  think we are deserving of Salvation. If we come in any way other than the blood of the lamb it is self righteousness.
  • It all comes down to acknowledging we are sinners. This is how David was kept. He was quick to hear God’s council.  He didn’t let the sin stop him in his tracks. God said he was a man after his own heart, even in that David did not get lifted up, he was humbled by it. He knew he didn’t deserve it but stood in it before God.
  • You can proclaim your own goodness without even knowing it. But with our walk in the Lord, He will help us to reveal these things so we can put them off.
  • Two people can hear the word, one walk away and think they are ok that is self righteousness. One who reads the word and sees the sin and comes to rely only on the blood of the lamb is righteousness.
  • The walk of faith is a humbling and humble walk.
  • You have to have faith in God and believe his word is true what he says is true.
  • By faith we dwell in the body of Christ. There is a faith and hope and joy in the Lord that He would have us not to just taste but be a constancy in our life.
  • Our souls have been washed of the filthiness, let us walk that way.
  • God wants to perform that forgiveness and mercy in our lives, but how can he when we don’t acknowledge our need for it?
  • Thinking of yourself better than another or less then another is pride because it is then about us. Either one can be put off and serve the Lord.
  • We can serve God through Jesus Christ by the faith of Jesus Christ.
  • To have an emotion isn’t the expression of love it is doing the word that is love.
  • God doesn’t ask us to beat ourselves us but to live in His hope. It really doesn’t matter who you are or what you are but whether you believe the word of God.
  • That which is impossible with us is possible with God. It puts our dependence and our hope in Him.
