Subject:
- Paul was a man that went from faith to faith. In Acts, we get to see him doing that.
- That which we should have done and we didn’t, there is the exhortation to be of good cheer.
- Paul was told by the Lord that He would save all of the men on the ship.
- He believed God and 14 more days passed without seeing any hope other than the hope through faith.
- Abraham believed and because of his belief generations after him believed.
- Let us see the same thing as them. Let us go from faith to faith as they did.
- Paul could have had anger against the people on the ship, but he was there for everyone there, even for those who reject him.
- Paul’s intervention for them was for their salvation’s sake. None of them were deserving, but were covered by grace.
- It’s easy to look out into the world and see no hope out there. That’s what the devil wants for us.
- Don’t give up that hope. Go forward and sow in hope for those out here. Sow liberally.
- The thief comes to steal your hope and your hope for others.
- We owe our nation to a man who had faith, Abraham. He sowed.
- “Calleth those things which be not as though they were”: the very definition of faith. Rom 4:17
- “Who against hope believed in hope” We have to choose to believe again, that series of choices to believe God. It doesn’t look believable at the moment. If it looked believable, it would be easy. We have to get rid of that mountain of unbelief when we choose to believe yet again. Then God moves.
- How often do you stagger at the promise of God? We have hope that it’s going to change, but it sometimes takes decades for the change to come.
- You have to fight against unbelief, refuse to give it place anywhere in your heart. Cast it off, and put belief in God and you will see God move.
- Paul didn’t stagger at the promise of God through unbelief when he was on the ship, but believed and the Lord moved.
- Let’s go forward in that faith.
