Subject:

  • Our own righteousness does not bring forth a relationship with God because we have no righteousness of our own.  Jesus’ righteousness was purchased for us by His blood and that impacts every aspect of our lives. Our lives become about rejecting pride, selfishness, the pleasures and desires of the flesh, and seeking to please God the Father which is impossible to do without faith. You must believe that God is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. If you consider yourself a Christian it is incumbent for you to diligently seek Him and He will reveal Himself to you.
  • If you attend a church that teaches that it is all about the denomination, or you, or money, or stuff or anything else other than diligently seeking out everything you can to find out about who God is…. then you need to go to a different church.
  • A common problem among people where pride shows forth is that by doing good works, or deeds, they think God will then owe them something. God does not owe us anything, He has already given it to us and we must receive it by faith knowing that God will accomplish what He said He will accomplish. He is able and willing to deliver us our inheritance.
  • It is all about what Jesus did on the cross and His ability to get things done! Not about what you do or think you can do or anything you have done. Your works do NOT lead to salvation.
  • Diligently seeking the Lord is what gives us the hope that is needed to push through what He has for us to do.
  • Sin is unbelief.  Not believing what God says. You can always confess to God that you are in that place of unbelief and ask for His help to get that turned around. God will do that for you if you will receive that help, because the point of turning to God is to get shed of sin, to be free to have fellowship with Him.
  • By nature our hearts are evil, full of unbelief, and that is what keeps us from receiving that which God has for us and from having that precious fellowship with Him. Too often we think that just because a thing is of nature that it is what it is and there is nothing that you can do about it because, after all, its natural. Just because it is our nature to do a thing does not mean it is right and it doesn’t mean that we can’t choose to do something else. It’s really an excuse so we don’t have to put any effort into fighting against our natural, carnal man that is by nature an enemy of God and His ways.
  • If we say that we abide in Christ, then we ought to be walking as He walked. Jesus walked with the desire to serve and glorify God the Father. One of the issues that people have is the desire to consume upon their own lusts, and want God to give them what they want. When you want to exhibit the love of God, which is what Jesus walked in, that is where you come to a place where you are hated by men for His name sake and that is what people want to avoid.
  • Look at what people consider good. Most people consider what is good is that thing that feeds their natural lusts of the flesh and then get disappointed when God is not doing what they want from their perspective. It is not about God being your servant, it is about you being God’s servant. Too many people treat God as if He is their servant to do what they want, to get what they want. It’s ok to ask God for something, but it is good to ask for the things that will serve Him and His purpose and will glorify Him.
  • There is a difference between a person who wants people to see God IN them and a person who wants people to see God working THROUGH them. One leads to self righteousness and thinking they look great and the other leads to humility. No matter what people think of you, it won’t matter to you because Jesus will be able to manifest His grace that others will see regardless of you.  It is by His grace that we are saved.
