Subject:
- Without faith it is impossible to please God. A lot of people don’t know how or think that they are pleasing God by being nice and kind to people and helping people but if it is not being done in faith it is not doing anything at all.
- The only thing that matters to commit to, is Jesus Christ. In your heart will you choose to put off that unbelief and walk by faith. Practicing this choice is what builds the faith muscle.
- Whether or not you believe the gospel will show in what you do, what you say, and how you act. Your life will look different than what it did before after you have chosen to believe. There will be signs that follow them that believe. There will be healing and casting out of devils, preaching the gospel, and raising the dead. If these things are not happening then something is wrong.
- If you are going to follow Jesus you must be willing to give up everything to do so. Not willing to do so and wanting to hold onto something that will keep you from moving forward in Christ is idolatry. Any person, place, thing, or thought you hold onto as being more important than God is idolatry.
- Jesus did and said only what His father told Him to do and say. Jesus walked this earth as a man of flesh and bone just as we are. He showed us that we are able to do the same thing. People often say things like. “Well, Jesus could do that because He was Jesus, I’m not.” It was the power of the Holy Spirit that moved through Jesus to do what was done because of His obedience and faith. Jesus did nothing of Himself, only what He was told. We also have the choice to do likewise. We can walk in the same Spirit as Jesus walked.
- Do what God tells you to do regardless of whether or not you understand it. Trust that God has you doing the right thing. Look at Israel when they went to take the city if Jericho. God told them to circle the city several times without speaking a word until they were to give a loud shout. That must have seemed like an odd thing to do that didn’t do much but they did it anyway and God accomplished what He was looking to accomplish. If God tells you to pat your head ten times and stand on one foot there is a reason for it. It doesn’t have to make sense to you, just do it.
