Subject:
- The bottom line to being able to receive from the Lord is do you believe? Do you believe the Word? Do you believe what it says?
- If you’re not receiving of the Lord you either do not know the Word/Lord or you don’t believe it.
- The challenge for us is believe the word. Either you do not know the word or you don’t believe it. One or the other. If you read it and don’t believe it God will even work with you in that place. Ask Him to open up understanding to you if you want it.
- If you believe the word of God you will trust God. You will show whether or not you believe it.
- God is not trying to hide from you or evade you. God wants you to know who He is and He wants to have fellowship with you. If you seek Him He will meet you where you are.
- By the word are we clean. You need to let the word have some of the cleansing power first so that you can choose to believe something. The word is part of how God reveals Himself to us and reveals the truth to you so that you can choose to believe it.
- Our life is only life if we are in Christ. Jesus is the life. You don’t add Jesus to your life and try to mix Jesus in a little here and there. Jesus becomes your life. Your life becomes His to do with what He wants. The flesh is not life. It is cursed and it will die and go back to the dust in which it came. Jesus did not die on the cross to save the flesh but to save the soul. There is nothing in the flesh that is good or pleasing to God. The only way to please God is with the mind to walk in faith.
- If you’re walking after the flesh then you are being led by the flesh and subjecting yourself to it. Rather, walk after the Spirit and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. The flesh leads to death while the Spirit leads to everlasting life.
- You need to believe that what Jesus did is sufficient and complete and there is nothing you can do of yourself that can add anything to what Jesus has already done. You say you believe in Jesus and what He did on the cross which was to cover our sin because there is no other way to be saved yet still trying to earn your way to salvation by works.
- If you’re operating in your own knowledge and ability and think you know of a better way to get things done more than God you are operating in pride and not only is that not going to work here in this world but you won’t stand long in the Kingdom of heaven with that going on either even if you manage to get in. There is a difference between getting into Heaven and staying there. There is only one way to do things, God’s way or the highway and the highway leads straight to hell.
