- 2 Peter 3:8-9
Subject:
- Being confident we have an assurance that God will continue doing the work he’s doing in us and showing us where we are off track and have sinned or have a fault, then he gives us the ability to deal with them. We need to have faith and trust him to keep his word.
- It is up to us to get rid of them and God’s word says we can if we want to become what he wants us to be and put off the old man.
- The day of Jesus Christ is the day when he returns.
- Thank God that because of his grace and mercy he doesn’t show us at one time every thing that’s wrong with us or we would give up
- He doesn’t do it for us. We have to make a decision to follow him and get rid of this stuff.
- Are we confident that what he has done for us he can do for others and do we support our brothers and sisters, pray for them, knowing God is working in them just as he is in us?
- We choose to have the joy of the Lord and need to thank him for his daily providing all we need and not take him for granted.
- That confidence is not in us it is in him who said he is able and will perform it.
- There is an implication in the work he is performing – that he is delivering us from the body of this death which is the bad work we find ourselves in.
- We prefer darkness to his marvelous light which is different from our natural man (which is darkness) so we have to make the choice to prefer his light.
- There is joy in the Lord. The love puts to rest the gainsaying and makes us submissive. Our justification is in him not in us.
- There is hope in the knowledge of him, and salvation if we come into him and put off our flesh.
- There is a fountain that flows like a river that abounds to our soul which is where the work of God takes place, not in our flesh.
- We are nothing outside of Christ but in him we are whole and need to seek to come into agreement with the word by hearing it and choosing to believe it, also if it comes from those who have the rule over us, putting off our mind and taking on the mind of Christ who humbled himself from the throne room of God and because a servant..
- As we obey him we get to partake of his honor, his glory and his workmanship, his wisdom and his strength and all the praise goes to him.
- Thank God for his workmanship and his longsuffering with each of us so we can finally get it and turn and submit which is repentance
- We all come devoid of any good thing, it doesn’t matter, that is how we are, just come, come.
