TFM-TexasSpeakers:

  • Richard D. Eutsler, Sr.
  • Scott Bishop

Scriptures used:

  • 1 Timothy 4
  • 2 Timothy 3

Subject:

  • Getting into the Word and knowing the Word.  The realization that if we were in a battle, we’d be dead because we don’t know the Word of God.  The truth is we are in a battle and we have to know the Word of God to make it through the battle.
  • Get some time alone, get honest with yourself and do an assessment of where you were with the Lord a year ago, where you are today and where you want to be and then do whatever it takes to get there.
  • Paul in his letter to Timothy advising him on how to behave himself as a minister.
  • This isn’t Paul’s opinion, this is something the Spirit of God, the Holy Ghost expressly showed Paul and told him to tell Timothy and the rest of us.  In the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.
  • The first temptation the devil brought to Jesus was one of hunger – turn these rocks into bread.
  • The second temptation dealt with pride – if ye be the son of God cast yourself down for it is written He shall put His angels in charge of thee.
  • The third temptation was lust / ownership, kingship, pride of life – if you bow down and worship me, I will give you all these kingdoms.
  • Pride of life, lust of the flesh and lust of the eyes.  The 3 areas Jesus was tempted.
  • Seducing spirits are going to seduce you in one or more of these areas to lead you astray:  Pride of life, lust of the flesh and lust of the eyes.
  • When satan came to Eve he tempted her in all 3 of these areas:  Pride of life, lust of the flesh and lust of the eyes.
  • Doctrines of devils support seducing spirits.  An example of this is when a man comes to Church, accepts the Lord and changes his life and then the people in the Church find out he was divorced, he is no longer welcome in the Church.
  • Respector of persons is an example of pride of life – judge by how many people are in Church each Sunday.
  • Some shall depart from the faith is not saying they will leave Church!  The Church is full of people & ministers who have departed from the faith …. Jesus Christ and him crucified, that you are a sinner and born in sin and there’s not a thing you can do about it because we are under the curse and will always be under the curse.  But Jesus has a way out for you … you can die with your flesh and go to hell or you can get your new body and have eternal with Jesus through faith in Christ Jesus, not in yourself.
  • The only thing we can do is believe.  We can take credit for that but He gave us both to will and to do of His good pleasure, so we can only thank Him and not take the credit because if He hadn’t given it to us to believe then we wouldn’t.
  • Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron.
  • In the last days perilous times shall come for men shall be lovers of their own selves.
  • God gave Jesus and Jesus showed us how to love others more than himself when He died on the cross giving up His life for us.
  • Every day we get the opportunity to practice loving one another more than ourselves.  We’re not always in a good mood, we don’t always want to make people feel good but are more interested in making ourselves feel good, but this gives us the opportunity to love one another and do better at it.
  • “I ain’t as good as I once was but I’m as good once as I ever was..” in the world that may be true with us, but in the Spirit I’m better than I once was and I want to be better than that.
  • If you are guilty of ANY of the things mentioned in 2 Timothy 3 you are a lover of your own self.  You don’t have to be guilty of ALL of them, just ONE of them is enough.  2 Timothy 3:2  For men shall be lovers of their own selves: covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
  • Most men aren’t in the Church because they know the Church is wrong.  But the “silly” women are led to “feel” good.  Women are deceivable by nature, otherwise men would never get married.  If you have more women in your Church than you do men, you need to get in your closet and seek why that is the case.  You cannot deceive men as easily as you can women.
  • Bible prophecy is coming to pass more and more each day … perilous times!
  • The theme for the convention is standing strong in the power of the Lord and the power of His might.  That’s what we have to go for.  Every believer in Jesus Christ needs to stand strong in His power and His might and believe it no matter what happens and be instant in season or out of season no matter what you are doing, because you never know who the Lord may have you minister to.  If your eyes are on yourself, you won’t be ready.  If your eyes are on Jesus you will always be ready with whatever He gives you to speak.
