Subject:

  • All of us must repent from sin, not just unbelievers. All sin is evil, the root of which is pride and unbelief, we’ve got to stomp that out. If we don’t deal with these sins we are going to die in these sins and go to hell.
  • Sin is deceitful so all too often we don’t see the sin we have in us. If we don’t know it is there how can we address it?
  • How can we overcome these things unless we look for them, but it hurts so we don’t look at it.
  • The good news is where sin abound, grace did abound more.   We need to compare ourselves with the Word. Praise God we have authorities that the Lord has placed over us.  Whether it be comfortable or not these authorities point things out to us.  Do we receive that correction that is given us or do we reject it?
  •  What goes through our head are things like: they don’t know what they are talking about, they don’t understand me or they are wrong, I was just, I was right – that isn’t anything but pride.  We do these things too much. If we are going to continue on doing it, what are we doing here?   Why are we here if we are going continue to reject the Word of God?   Do you think you can pull the wool over Jesus’ eyes?   Do you think He doesn’t see what is in your heart? Do you think you are greater than Him?
  • There are some people  who are in the same place they were three years ago.   Why?   It is your own choice to be there!   Get yourself out of it – go to Him – He will help you. If truly in your heart you want to get it right – you will, the Word says so.   A man does what a man wants to do.  Receive the correction that you get, repent from your sins.
  • John the Baptist came preaching repent, Jesus came preaching repent, Peter came preaching repent, Paul came preaching repent. How many times do you need to hear it?
  • What does it mean to repent?   It is a genuine sorrow toward God, you got to mean it, feel bad about it.  There needs to be a genuine separation from sin, submission to God’s will, just submit to him.
  • Repentance brings forth fruit else wise we will perish.
  • The bride of Christ doctrine, the least important. How can your identity be the least important?
  • God loved us so much that he gave his only Son to die that we might have life.   Sounds good but that is not what it says.   Scripture says: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
  • Where do people get off that it is all about them?  This is a major problem in the church today – it is all about me, it is not about you it is about me, I’m special.  Where does this come from? It comes out of the bride of Christ syndrome.
  • Did not Paul say in the latter days some shall depart from the faith taking heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils?
  • Seducing spirits make it all about you and the doctrines of devils is a doctrine that supports that.  Scripture is clear that by two or more witnesses shall anything be established.
  • Nowhere in the King James Bible can you find where it says the church is the bride of Christ, it’s the Body of Christ.
  • If the church was the bride of Christ the church would have to get herself ready for Christ, for her husband.
  • Doesn’t it say over in Galatians,  “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?, Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”   He’s talking about you come to the Lord by faith, you’re saved by faith, you received Christ by faith, now you’re going to turn around and screw it up by thinking you’re perfect by the flesh?
  • Another problem with this whole thing about the bride of Christ – if you be the bride of Christ then you’re not in Christ. If you be not in Christ then you be not saved, for in order to be saved you must be in Christ.
  • The church is the body of Christ, therefore if the church is the body of Christ, Christ being the head of the church which is his body, then ye are of that body and ye are saved. But if you are not of that body where are you? You’re out there trying to get yourself ready.
  • Revelation makes it clear the Bride of Christ is New Jerusalem.
  • The bride teaching makes it all about you.
  •  God so loved the world – his creation. He loved his creation and he wanted to make a way for that creation to be saved and anyone who would believe on Christ would be.
  • Somebody might say, what about the field with the treasure in it?  The field being the world, he buys the field to get the treasure – that’s the elect seed, the elect seed he already knew and he purchased the field so he could take back that treasure. But when it comes to the seed of Adam its whosoever believeth.  The seed of Adam has a free will and if you have a free will then you have a choice whether to believe or not believe.   If it is all about you you can’t believe, you’re going to consistently screw up.  It’s got to be about Christ.
  • Cain and Abel – Abel offered that which pleased God, he offered the sacrifice that represented Christ. Cain offered that which was cursed. God even gave him a way out – if you do that which is right you will be accepted, what’s the problem?  All you got to do is turn around Cain and do it my way. Cain’s pride wouldn’t let him so he rose up and killed his brother.
  • We’ve got that in the church today – people who are so about themselves they can’t die for others, they can’t let go for others, they can’t put other people first.  They are going to go the way of Cain if they don’t straighten it out.
  • We must die for others, let go for others and put others first or go the way of Cain if we don’t straighten it out.
  • One of the biggest ways this thing is promoted is this bride teaching, it makes it all about  you.
  • Jesus died so the seed of Adam could live, not any one in particular person.   He does not know your name until after you receive Him.  Matthew 7 is clear on that when he says get thee away from me ye workers of iniquity I never knew you. These are people that claim to accept Christ but it was all about them and their works and what they did.
  • Church is full of them and it’s going to be a sad day when the reckoning comes.
  • It’s not about us it is about Jesus and His work.
  • If you want to be saved you believe on Him, you serve Him and you seek to please Him, not that you may be perfect but that you may show your love for Him. Love one another, that was the commandment, love God with all you heart, soul, strength, mind and love your neighbour as yourself.   Love one another.
