Subject:
- We perceive with our ears and eyes through the brain, we filter these things and see what we want to see, we see what we are looking for.
- If we are going to call ourselves Christians and take on that name of Christ that it not be in vain then we’re to receive that mind of Christ by faith. If we are going to process these things as Christ would then we are in Christ and able to walk even as He did.
- We tend to identify things with our own identity but we’re to identify ourselves as Christians.
- The churches have a false identity. If we are Christians and the body of Christ, God’s Spirit is male and cannot be a bride which is female, it doesn’t make any sense.
- The solution to this identity crisis is Christ.
- We need to have faith rightly placed in Christ if we want to move forward in Him and do things right. We have to cast off that old man, that old self, that old identity and move forward in Him. We have to die to ourselves that He might increase in us.
- As the church is subject to Christ – when you look at the churches, you see that the churches are subject to Christ in exactly the same way as wives are subject to their husbands. No man out there that is a true believer and honest would say that their wives are subject unto them in all ways.
- As for my people – God’s men, not women and children – women rule over them, children are their oppressors, they cause you to err and destroy the ways of your paths.
- I will make known my words unto you – if ye return.
- Beautiful promise – if you will hearken unto the Lord, take His reproof, repent, He will be with you, you will not have to fear.
- There is an order of things that God requires – the head of every man is Christ, not his wife, not his children, not the government, not the friends down the street. His head is Christ.
- Christ may put people in authority over him, like an employer at work or a minister, but Christ is still his head. If he is under a minister and Christ is his head then he trusts Christ in the minister – not the minister in Christ, Christ in the minister.
- God told Joshua He would be with him in the same way as He was with Moses but there was a condition – that he had to be strong and of a good courage.
- The people declared unto Joshua that they would follow him in the same way that they followed Moses but they had two conditions. One condition was with God, the other condition was with Joshua.
- Condition they had with God – that God be with Joshua.
- Condition they had with Joshua – that Joshua would be strong and of a good courage.
- Men – if you are going to make Christ your head and if you are going to serve God you are going to have to be strong and of a good courage. You are going to have to overcome your flesh, you are going to have to overcome your feelings, so that you can do those things that are right. You are going to have to overcome your fear.
- Man was created for God. Man’s purpose is to serve and please God, his created purpose. Men were not created to please a woman.
- Woman was created as a helpmeet to the man, she was created to serve the man so he could serve God.
- How can we obey God as a nation and receive His blessings if we do not get it right in the church?
- This country is going down the tubes rapidly and Christians are doing nothing about it because they are out to serve themselves, they have lost their identity. They walk around thinking they are a woman, thinking they are his bride and are being wooed by God.
- We are to be the Body of Christ, waiting for the bride when she comes down.
- The churches have it backwards, the church expects God to serve it.
- Testimony of being asked to pray for ‘private intentions’. Being stopped by the Lord as the prayer was not right. Repent – how can you serve God if you cannot serve the one he has put over you?
- Hearing this woman praying – sounded like some woman ragging out her husband at the top of her voice, she was railing on him because he was not doing what she wanted him to do.
- How many Christians today fall into this same category? Their prayers are not about Lord how may I serve you, how may I make you happy or how may I be what you want me to be or Lord I need this, I want that. Lord do this for me, Lord do that for me.
- Her vision of walking with Richard and a Y in the path. She turned off to go up the mountain as she wanted to climb up the mountain of God but he wouldn’t go with her. When she began to slip and fall she cried for his help to come up to help her. He would not go up as he had stayed on the straight and narrow path and told her to come back down. She wanted to do it her own way, go up the mountain of pride and to show everybody how great she was and she started falling. If you don’t turn you will fall and you will die. She ended up dying of stomach cancer.
- She heard the Word but refused to believe it, it killed her.
- Mix means to digest. You digest the Word with faith. You can hear the Word but if you don’t digest it, it will kill you. It will putrefy and rot and poison you and you will die. The Word of God is like manna in the desert, it will bring you life but if you hoard it and just don’t use it it putrefies. A lot of people hoard the word, but they don’t use the Word, they gather it up to themselves but they don’t digest it.
- Women in the church need to begin to realize that in order for them to serve God they must serve their husbands as unto the Lord.
- Husbands need to learn that in order to serve God, they have to serve God. He should still take care of his wife, see to her needs, but he leads, he follows Christ, -let her follow you.
- Most women in the churches today think that they’re the spiritual ones. That was the problem with Eve.
- Adam was given a commandment by God but didn’t follow it, he followed Eve. By that one man’s sin did sin and death come upon the whole world. Praise God by the one man Jesus Christ and his obedience to God, even unto the death on the cross, we can be saved and freed from that law of sin, if we believe him and follow him.
- Turn loose of all the old crap and the cares of the world that so easily beset us. Let us grasp tightly and strongly the Word of God, be obedient to Him and love Him and serve Him as He wants us to do it. He doesn’t serve us we serve Him, He takes care of us.
- Steve mentioned today in his service a very good point: Slaves did not have to worry about where their food was coming from or their clothing because as long as they served their master they were fed, they were taken care of. To be a servant of Christ is to be His slave. If we are about His business we don’t have to worry about where our food or clothing is going to come from. He will make sure we have it. http://www.thefishermenministry.net/sunday-vt-3022014/
