Subject:
- If we don’t use the muscles the Lord gave us they atrophy and like our physical muscles don’t want to move. Our primary job, our goal and our focus is to let others know what the Lord did for us and with us, the good news of what Jesus did for us so that we can be here and praise Him every day.
- We need to use and work those muscles given to us every time we go out regardless of how others receive us. If we’re using the Word of the Lord and giving Jesus Christ to them, we cannot allow their influence to change what we do. Keep your eyes on the Lord, focusing on Him and use the muscles He’s given you.
- If you want to build that faith muscle, build more Jesus in you, build that love, it may start hurting a bit. You may find things about yourself that you thought were great but need to get rid of so you can move forward. How you deal with that pain shows you where you are going, will you shy away and stay where you are or push through it?
- Construction zones are dangerous places that don’t look pretty, they look ugly. But to the architect who designed it they can see the end, what it is going to be, and it is beautiful to them. When we become Christians we are to lay down our old lives and ask God to become that architect of our new life. It will get a bit messy, a construction zone.
- As He begins to work, things get torn down, relocated or removed and we sometimes want to leave it as it was. We have trouble seeing the finished product or making sense of the steps He is taking along the way, so we fight it.
- We need to trust Jesus to build that new life and move forward in it, have that faith, believe and trust Him completely.
- How far will your faith go? Are you willing to get into the wheel barrow that Jesus has the other end of and trust him completely?
- You need to let your heart be examined by the Lord and make it a stepping stone, a rising place or you receive the grace of God in vain. If you want strength in building your spiritual and present life and a transformation you need to embrace correction and chastening and choose to change or all the other stuff is in vain.
- Have faith in God, believe that the scripture is for you. Have real faith, believe His Love covers you and flows through you and His spirit lifts you. And then share it with others.
- Fear is what keeps you from walking in the power and love of God. It comes in many forms, shapes and sizes. Guys in bar fights have the crap beat out of them because they were afraid of being called a coward, not realizing their motivation for fighting was fear.
- Have you received the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands? You did not get a spirit of fear so why do you act like it, walk like it? Could it be because you don’t believe, don’t trust?
- The simple breakdown of Hebrews 4 – Unless you take the Word of God and mix it with faith, it is a killer. Hearing makes you accountable for it and if you don’t act on it, it will judge you. Mixed is like digestion. Take the best piece of meat, cook it and eat it, but if your stomach doesn’t digest it, it will putrefy and kill you. But when it is mixed with the enzymes and digestive juices and processed as God intended it brings life. So is the Word of God, it has to be mixed with faith.
- Faith is a fear killer. If you are faced with a situation, a problem and you can’t pass through that, it is a sign your faith is not being mixed with the Word and are being stopped by the spirit of fear.
- God does not give us a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind (the Holy Spirit), but to use it you have to activate the Word of God by faith.
- If you want to stand in the throne room of God there are four steps you have to go through:
- The first – fear of God.
- The second – labor against that unbelief. Once you grab hold of the Word and mix it with faith you’re always going to have to labor against unbelief because it comes from the flesh and is fed by fear. You have to fight that and put it down by the Word of God and by faith.
- The third – hold fast your profession of faith. Once you have battled through unbelief you have to step out in that profession God has called you in – teacher, pastor, evangelist, prophet or apostle. Whatever God called you to, your profession, you have to stand up in it. You will make mistakes, do stupid things, but that is what the grace of God is for, part of that construction process. The mess doesn’t matter, the building matters.
- So hold fast to what God has called you to do and do it. It doesn’t matter how many times you screw up, or make a mistake or fall on your face. It is the fact that you hold fast using faith and the Word which will activate the Holy Spirit . Stirring up that gift by faith and the Word.
- Do you want to see the Holy Spirit get busy? Start talking about His favorite subject – Jesus. He’s not impressed with anything else. To see the Holy Spirit get excited, start moving, start changing lives, talk about His favorite subject.
- Fourth and finally -come to the throne with boldness. When you make those steps then you belong there. You don’t have to whine or cry and beg at the door to be allowed to peek in, you have access.
- When Jesus came to the tomb of Lazarus, one of the things He said was “Father, I know thou hearest me in all things whatsoever I ask but for their sakes…” Jesus did not have to pray for himself but for the people’s sake He prayed to the Father.
- When you’re in that place you’re supposed to be, when you pray for someone who’s sick you’re praying in the name of Jesus. You don’t have to say in the name of Jesus but for the people’s sake you say it.
- Understand it, wrap your head around that. If God called you to salvation, He has called you be part of His body, to represent Him – to preach the gospel, heal the sick, cast out devils, raise the dead. No excuses, none. Every believer, every Christian has that promise.
- Stop letting fear rob you of what God has for you – fear of failure, fear of what other people will think. When it’s all about you, you are ruled by fear. When it’s all about Jesus there is no fear.
- Remember the race riots in the 70’s in Orlando? My mission was right in the middle of where they were going on. I was walking to the mission by myself and was approached by some very angry black men with weapons, I told them to stand fast for you know not who is with me for those with me are greater than you. They dropped their weapons and ran. Later one came in the mission and when he saw me he looked around for the guys with the big swords. God had opened their eyes and they saw the angels God had with me. If I’d operated in fear that would not have happened.
- Because my faith and my hope was based on Jesus Christ and His Spirit there was no time to fear and I told him they’re with me but it’s ok they will not bother you here. That guy accepted the Lord that night.
- Overcome fear and you overcome everything – don’t think you don’t have fear – it’s in your voice, in your comments about other people. It does not have to be that way.
- Stir up that gift by praying in the Holy Ghost and by stepping out and doing it. When you stir up the Holy Ghost there’ll be resistance from your flesh but stir it up anyway and He will get excited and begin to move.
