Subject:

• Why are we here listening to this?   Because we want to know the truth, to see the truth, to stand in the truth and to walk in the truth.
• We have the manual.  What do we lack? We need to ask for wisdom to understand what we read.
• We need to keep our eyes on Jesus, having Him in the forefront of our minds all the time, not just once a week, because with Him all things are possible.  Jesus wants us is to know Him,
• We need to get to know God but how do we do that? By listening, praying and knowing (studying) His Word.
• Study is an action word like faith.
• Polls have shown that over 80% of college students have cheated in some way.  Punching the clock might work in the world but it does not work in the Kingdom of God.
• The attitude of these students is found in the church today, how else could so many so-called preachers sucker in so many so-called believers?   If they don’t know the Word they don’t know the preacher is lying to them. If they knew the Word they could call him on it. They don’t do their homework, they don’t study. If we sit relying on the pastor to spoon feed us, we will not grow. If we are fed poison it will lead to our death. Get into the Word and know the truth. You may be able to help others, that’s love.
• To be a doer of the work you must know what the work is and what God’s standard is or you can’t say you are in obedience to it or Him. If you don’t know what the standard is it’s because you don’t read it. Read and know the Word of God and you will know what is expected of you and if you do it you will have good success.
• The Bible is a weapon you can use in your hand to defend your faith from falsehoods and Satan’s apostles who are telling lies.
• Do you love God’s Word and believe that the Bible is the Word of God? If not you can’t claim to be a believer. If you do believe the Bible is the Word of God then why don’t you read it, do it, love it? Why don’t you gain wisdom from it?
• Just showing up for services is not going to cut it. Read and study the Word for yourself, do your homework so you can grow in faith.
• On cheating – people think if they belong to a certain church or denomination that makes it ok, but it is not a guarantee of salvation, you are not saved by association. You are saved by the association you have with Jesus Christ and God the Father.
• James said to do the work. Knowing the Word, understanding the Word – then you can do the work of the Word.
• What were the works of Jesus?  He preached the gospel, healed the sick, cast out devils, raised the dead, performed miracles. If you know the Word and your relationship is right with Him then you too can do the work.
• Too many Christians lose out because ministers have not told them the truth and then those that would tell the truth they seek to destroy.
• You can’t get more basic than John 1:1.  In Genesis He’s referred to as “the voice of the Lord God walking”, in Ezekiel and Jeremiah as “the Word of the Lord that came unto me saying”, Abraham saw Him as the ram caught in the brambles, Moses as the fire in the bush, Daniel as the angel closing the lion’s mouth, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego saw Him as the fourth man in the fiery furnace. I see Him as the one who died for my sins for an everlasting forgiveness and a washing and regeneration by His blood to give me everlasting life if I will submit myself unto Him and follow after Him.
• When God said let there be light that was Jesus and He put that light in every man and every woman that is born. We let darkness in because we follow not the light.
• Everywhere the term “Sons of God” is used it refers to His angels.   Here it’s saying that if you believe on Him He will give you the power to become one of His angels.
• There were 3 archangels:  Michael –like unto God;  Gabriel – power of God;  Lucifer – the shining one, who when he rebelled he rebelled against Christ and was cast out with 1/3 of the angels.
• Jesus is rebuilding his army so He can come back with that army and destroy Satan and all of his works.   Which side will you be on, will you stand on?   If you say you are on the fence then you are dead. There is no fence, you are either on Gods’ side or Satan’s. There is no neutrality in heaven.
• You’re either part of God’s army or you’re automatically part of Satan’s army or under Satan’s control. The choice is yours.
• If you are touched by the Lord Jesus He said go into your closet and pray in secret where God hears in secret and sees in secret, and will reward you openly.
• If you are already a believer but need to rededicate – get in your closet, tell the Lord. If you’ve never dedicated your life and want to, get in your closet, say something like – Jesus I’m not wrapped too tight and been a jerk all my life and I want it to stop. Take over, I give myself to you. The Lord will hear you.
• Let’s not cheat, let’s do it right, and believe till we do the work.
