TFM-TexasSpeakers:

  • Richard D. Eutsler, Sr.
  • Scott Bishop
  • Bob Hicks

Scriptures Used:

  • Acts 15
  • Matthew 22:34
  • John 8:31-32
  • Matthew 11:28
  • Jeremiah 23:33-34

Subject:

  • The world thinks that being a Christian means a certain thing … some even think we should have butterflies on our fingertips.
  • The Church puts a lot of restraints on new Christians, don’t smoke, don’t dance, don’t do this that or the other or they say that if you tithe the Lord will bless you 100 fold.  That is not Scriptural but it is something that is taught.
  • We are under a greater commandment, to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul and with all our might.
  • There is nobody who could fulfill the law.  So let not the constraints come upon you.
  • The law was given to us by God as a schoolmaster to show us that we are sinners and cannot complete that.  We are sinners in need of a Savior in need of someone to save us.
  • The Pharisees were always trying to find fault with Jesus, what He said, what He taught, what He did.
  • On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.  Matthew 22:37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  38  This is the first and great commandment.  39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
  • The Lord knows how to boil down issues and cut right to the heart or core of what’s going on.  He’s a master at making complicated situations simple.
  • Each and every one of us is able to be blessed and understand because He is master of making complicated situations simple.
  • When we minister the Gospel we need to keep it simple.  Minister the Gospel and His love and His truth.
  • The Pharisees were educated, smart, esteemed and today we have the same type of folks who are blinded by themselves.
  • Jesus showed that the truth is not easily accepted by those who are not willing to humble themselves and set their opinions aside.  Many people struggle to admit that they need help.  They cringe at the idea that they may need to rely on somebody other than themselves.  You have to break through your pride and the show people put on, remove your doubt and confusion, turn to Jesus and trust Him and believe Him.
  • John 8:31-32 The Truth shall make you free.  If you don’t want to be a servant to sin anymore, then believe Jesus.  Do you want to know the truth?  Do you want to be set free?  Lay down your pride, lay down your troubles, lay down the cares of this world.  Get on your knees in your closet, repent  and ask Jesus to set you free.
  • Matthew 11:28-29.  Rest unto your souls:  Have you ever done anything in your life that comes back and hits you like a hammer and it just nails you and makes you feels guilty of some sin that you’ve committed or attitude that you’ve had and you just can’t seem to get shed of it?  Even things you did before you were a Christian?  That is a troubled soul or a soul in labor.  When Jesus Christ died on a cross for us and shed His blood for us, every bit of that was taken away.  God throws it away into the sea of forgetfulness and remembers it no more.  So why do we keep going back to yesterday?  Because of the sin that is in our flesh.  But when we look at Jesus and put off that yoke of the law and put on the yoke of faith and salvation that comes from faith in Jesus Christ, our soul is at rest and is no longer in turmoil.  All we have to do is decide to believe Him, and when satan tries to come and throw that stuff on you.
  • SATAN ACCUSES
  • When satan accuses you and the thought of your past comes on you and guilts you, the reason you think that is because satan is accusing you in the throne to Jesus and you hear it because you are in the throne room with Jesus by faith and you can either agree with satan or tell him he’s a liar and it no longer exists.
  • You think that the accusatory thought comes from nowhere, but it is coming from the throne room where satan accuses you to Jesus and your soul is now with Jesus so you now have the choice to agree and receive what satan says or realize it is a lie and not real by faith.
  • A religion that comes to kill, steal and destroy is of the devil and their conscience has no guilt because they are of their father the devil.
  • My yoke is easy and my burden is light.  The old yoke to keep the law, nobody can do, but the yoke of Jesus is simply to believe Him and He will get you through, will pour out His blood for you and cover you.
  • What is the burden of the Lord?  What burden?  When you say to follow the Lord is hard you are saying the burden of the Lord.  It is not hard to follow the Lord.  It’s hard to follow religion, it’s hard to follow the law, but it’s NOT hard to follow Jesus.  His burden is light, His burden is easy, love, forgiveness, hope, salvation… it’s easy.  You can follow yourself and your pride and all the things of the world, that’s hard.  Justifying yourself and trying to make yourself better than someone else is hard … no matter how hard you work, there’s always someone better.
  • If you just rest in God and His promise and His Word, let the problems of the world go and trust in Jesus Christ and then there is no burden.  Your soul is no longer troubled and you’re free to have fellowship one with another in love without accusing or hating one another but rather loving one another as God intends it. Let’s do it.
