Speakers:
- Steve Atherton
- Charles Hocker
Scriptures used:
- Luke 4:14-27
- Joshua 5:13-15
Subject:
- The spirit of the Lord hath anointed me to preach deliverance to the captives. This is the truth.
- When we are broken-hearted the Lord is quick to restore our hearts.
- Joshua asked are you for us or for our adversaries. He said “Nay”, he wasn’t there on a particular man’s side, but on a mission for God.
- Most churches say “God is on our side”. Was God on the Apostle Paul’s side, or was Paul on His side?
- They are afraid to be on God’s side, they have their own agenda.
- You have chosen to give up your life and be dead unto that old life.
- That new life is a new life divine.
- When your heart is circumcised, it dies unto the old man.
- The new man can be perfect as God is perfect. That man can be perfect in love.
- God was able to change a heart like mine, but can change yours. The doer doesn’t just hear, but walks it out.
- The only thing that makes us accepted is what Jesus did.
- He had the authority to preach the Gospel to the poor, and deliverance to the captives.
- In Galilee he was accepted, but in Nazareth He was cast out.
- Joshua was on God’s side.
- In Luke 4:30 he went his way because the spirit of the Lord was upon Him.
- You have to get rid of your agenda, or self justification will kill you.
- In self justification, it doesn’t matter what your thoughts are, cast them down, trod them underfoot, and be obedient in the Lord.
- That same promise is there for each of us.
