TFM-Northfield-VermontSpeakers:

  • Steven Atherton
  • Robin Atherton

Scriptures used:

  • 2 Peter 1
  • Psalm 51
  • 1 John 5

Subject:

  • Come unto Him as little children.  Children need others.  They don’t get hung up about their stumbles.
  • 2 Peter 1 says to add things to our faith.  Virtue, where we step into the body of Christ and do His will.  Add unto virtue knowledge – like the general of an army.  He knows all things about the battle.  Understand what goes on in context, then there is hope.
  • Psalm 51 – David, after falling was in a position to teach transgressors the Lord’s ways.  We struggle to allow Him to change us and turn us from dead works.
  • As we press on to know Him we can receive all things and exhort one another.
  • Hearing comes by the Word of God,  By 2 or 3 witnesses is anything established.  When we listen to the Word and read it at the same time, it establishes His Word in us.
  • Children are like sponges and receive things, they start with a clean slate.
  • Learn to receive the love of the truth.  When you receive salvation realize you need a savior, then listen to Him.
  • I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
  • When we ask for things and don’t receive them we get upset.
  • If we believe the Lord, we are born of God.
  • Forgive and love others as God has forgiven you.
  • We CAN overcome unbelief and pride.  We do it by faith in what Jesus did.
  • Baptism of blood:  receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and He washes our soul in the blood of Jesus and we are washed clean.
  • Baptism of water – done by the Holy Spirit of God, He takes your soul (which needs a new dwelling place)  and translates the soul into the Body of Jesus Christ until we receive our new home in heaven.
  • Baptism of spirit – into the power of God to go forward and do His works because we have His spirit and can walk as He walked.
  • When you receive the witness of His son and believe on, you receive the power.  We have to decide to believe it and go forward in it.
  • When He becomes the most important thing, He will hear us and take care of us.  He then has His eye on us.
  • He can’t honor unbelief.
  • Get up and go forward in faith.  The witness of God is there, that He is with us.  If we know that He hears us we are granted the petitions we ask.  If we ask according to His Word, He hears us.
  • At the end of the day see where you falter, take that as marching orders.  Lift up your problem to Him and He helps with it.
  • We can know of an absolute certainty that He will help us.  He wants us to make it.  We need to make it and be strengthened in our spirit and not our flesh.  Know nothing wavering that He will bring it to pass.
