TFM-Northfield-VermontSpeakers:

  • Steven Atherton
  • Robin Atherton

Scriptures used:

  • Acts 16:1-34
  • Psalm 51
  • Ephesians 4:17
  • Ephesians 1:15-23
  • Ephesians 3:14-21

Subject:

  • Lydia heard and believed.  The Lord opened her heart.
  • Paul came into her house because he judged her to be faithful.
  • Paul commanded a spirit of divination out of a woman, the response was that people were stirred up against him.
  • Paul understood the repercussions of what he did, but he did what was right, despite being cast into prison and beaten.
  • The prisoners heard Paul and Silas singing praises to the Lord, and the prison doors were opened and they were all free.
  • The jailer was about to kill himself and Paul, in the love of God, calls on him to stop.
  • The jailer asked what he must do to be saved, in response to the Gospel Paul preached.
  • The response was believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.  That is the way to salvation for all of us.
  • In 1 John it says if you say you don’t sin, you’re a liar.  Paul walked not in his own, but in the sufficiency of the grace of God.
  • David loved God, and fell, and had his Ps 51 moment, when he came to the Lord not knowing his end, and yet the Lord forgave him.
  • Do we need an experience like David did to know that we are sinners saved by grace?  I hope not.
  • We need to go forth bringing the same love that is our hope, to others.
  • The gifts that people have that don’t know the Lord are things that they make money out of, and don’t often look like in The Exorcist with Linda Blair.
  • When the spirit of God comes, these demonic spirits manifest themselves in the person, and come against the Lord because they are agitated.
  • There is a great tendency to be drawn unto the other Gentiles who walk in the vanity of their mind, because we prefer to be liked.
  • How are people going to know that the Gospel is true and that God is real, unless somebody shows them?
  • The love of God is so different than us, by nature, it can become disheartening.
  • In order for us to understand, He will need to lift the curtain so we can understand and walk with Him.
  • We are constantly learning, and it can be tiring and frustrating at times.  This prayer in Ephesians is how we get through this.
  • The Lord will work with one person who wants to know the truth, it matters extraordinarily to Him.  If you really want to know the truth and you go to the Lord, He will move to open up the truth to you.
  • We don’t like to look at how bad we are, when we see the grace that has been given to us, then we will be willing to share that grace with others.
  • When Christ became a cursed thing on that cross, his destination was hell.  It was the part of hell that there was no escape from.  And yet by the power of God he was not only set free, but also raised everyone from the dead that had died in hope.
  • We see zero hope in some of our piddly situations.  We believe a lie.
  • When we read this prayer, it shows us the hope and the extraordinary power God has to overcome anything.
  • He is higher than every name on this earth.  Far above all principality and power and might and dominion.
  • We can bow our knees, do we want to do as Christ did?  We can’t do it but He can do it.  He can do it through the riches of HIS glory and His Spirit in our inner man.
  • We can’t perceive the 4th dimension with our natural mind.  But we can with our spiritual mind.  Go forth in His Spirit, not in our carnal man.  There is nothing but failure in the carnal man.  But in the body of Christ there is eternal victory.
  • How can we know something that passeth knowledge?  We can’t in our natural mind but we can in our spiritual mind.  The mind of Christ.
  • He is able to do exceedingly above all that we ask or think!
  • God will work with us and we will grow in Him.
  • The glory goes to Him.  We want to be glorified.  We want people to be healed so that we will look good.  The Lord wants us to rest in the fact that the glory goes to Him.
