- Luke 15
Subject:
- Our faith is to be in Jesus Christ, and when we look at ourselves, we come to the conclusion that we are base.
- When others see the Lord is with us despite our baseness, they then have a hope also. The flesh is base and ugly, but Christ has overcome that. If my faith and hope is in Him, and our eyes are on Him, the struggle will become less and less.
- We have to forsake our own righteousness.
- The story of the Prodigal Son.
- You can’t help but love your father when he has such compassion on you, as the prodigal son’s father did, just as The Lord does.
- There is no justification for ourselves.
- We think that others are getting more than us, just like the prodigal son’s brother.
- He was offended that he wasn’t getting what he deserved.
- You can stand in the place of freedom to listen to and do what He would have you do and not be concerned about others.
- You won’t be hung up about your natural man, that’s not what you’re about.
- Your old man is base. That’s ok, Christ didn’t die for the old man.
- As you grow in Him you find yourself extending mercy and grace unto others. If you don’t do that, you find yourself offended at people who need grace and mercy.
- Grace and truth come by Jesus Christ. Let’s stand in that, not in the judgment and self righteousness of our flesh.
