Subject:
- Testifying of that which we know, everyone in the body has a testimony of the Lord.
- It is clear we are called to confess the Lord in front of men. Listen to this: Sunday TX 2/16/2014 Service
- We need to trust the Lord to know when it’s time to share Him. Sometimes people aren’t open to hearing about the Lord, they are accountable for what they hear. If you bring it to them before they are ready to receive it, it is not good for them. We need to give attention to the Lord and what He would have us say.
- Beware of the vanity of our minds. Sometimes we let our mind get in the way. Trust in the Lord that the people we talk to will have what they need when they need it. It all starts with the Gospel, for those that don’t know the Lord bring them the Gospel. We preach other things because knowledge puffeth up. You don’t have to know everything. If you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior you have a testimony. Be discerning and let the Lord lead. If you want to serve the Lord, you will.
- You’ve got to have that hope, as in 1 Peter 3:15, and we all do to some degree. When you do this your words actually give voice to what is already you.
- In Jeremiah 1:8 the Lord told Jeremiah not to be afraid to their faces. It is easy to draw a conclusion to what people are thinking by their face. Our job is to sow the seed, not to inspect the ground. Share what the Lord has done in our lives. Don’t judge the Lord’s ability to use you and bring forth what He would. Look for direction from the Lord.
- A lot of people, when met with the true Word, don’t know what to do with it. They may need time to sit on it. Pray for them and trust the Lord for them. Witnessing is having compassion on others because you’ve been through a thing too. Sharing something you have experienced yourself. There is a people out there to be harvested.
- As you go into the world in your life, remember the great commission and do it. Sometimes it won’t be an oral testimony but always preach the Gospel. The Lord is well able and willing to accomplish His will in each of us. If you are willing to serve the Lord He will use you. He is able to use you any way to minister to people anywhere. If we can be like Isaiah, which we can be, we will have busy lives witnessing the Gospel. How the opportunities that come to us looks, doesn’t matter. It’s ok just to let a person talk about some difficulties in the moment, it may open up opportunity later to minister in compassion.
- There is a difference between preaching and witnessing. Preaching at someone means it is all about you. Witnessing is all about the Lord. Let them get to know you first. Why should they believe you?
- The whole point is we are saved by the blood of the Lamb. We have a mighty message to share with others so they may partake too. It doesn’t come because we are better but because we know we’re not. Compassion, mercy and love should be continuous. It all rests upon the fact that we believe Him. Also having confidence in Him and not ourselves. It is ongoing that the Gospel ministers to us and through us. God is merciful, we are saved because of that. It all has to do with the mercy of God that redeems man. That is what we have to share.
- If we believe Him, from that vantage point there is nothing to hold us back. We know He is faithful who has promised. We can grow in confidence in the Lord to serve Him. Pray and ask the Lord to give you opportunities to witness. Believe Him for it, and be looking for them.
