Subject:
- God chose the weak and the base things of the world to confound the wise and mighty.
- People are often comfortable in their sin and are not being provoked to repent and turn away from it and press forward in the Lord. Two ways this happens are the people who think they are good and have no need of Jesus, or some think that they are so bad that there is no hope for them. Both sides reject what Jesus taught. There is none good save God and there is no sin that is too big for God to deal with. There is nothing good or bad that a person can do that is bigger than God.
- We were all born into sin and are guilty for no one is above it. Our flesh is cursed and the proof of that is that it’s going to die like it or not. For the wages of sin is death. The rich and powerful man is just as cursed as the poor beggar on the street and the poor man has no justification to hate or judge the rich man either. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
- It is God who provides and delivers not the government or anybody else. When the government continues to provide for the poor or the disabled it keeps people from turning to the Lord and learning to trust God for what they need. Why would anybody turn to the Lord if they keep getting what they need from other sources. They won’t. They will gladly stay in the place they’re at in poverty and never learn about Jesus and what He can do. Tell people what Jesus can do for them and that they don’t have to stay in poverty and in hunger or continue to rely on people or government to get what they need and if they receive Jesus He will work it out for them. If they don’t want it, well, that is their choice and they can go ahead and stay in poverty.
- When Jesus was on the cross there were many who were mocking Him and wanting Jesus to prove Himself in who He was but there was one man on a cross next to Jesus who humbled himself and recognized the trouble he was in and knew that Jesus was the one who could deliver him of his death. Do not mock God thinking He needs to prove something to you. Humble yourself before God and let Him reveal Himself to you.
- God gives us much freedom in how to worship Him. It is not about wearing certain clothes while you do it or being in a particular place at certain times or any kind of ritual as men have made it to be, or have done it in past times. Worship God in spirit and in truth and you can do that anywhere at any time regardless of what you’re doing at the moment.
- BELIEVE Jesus, who He is and what He said and trust that He will do what He says He will do. It’s easy.
