TFM-Wednesday-Womens-Bible-Study

Speakers:

  • Robin Atherton
  • Ann Eutsler
  • Karen Hocker
  • Megan Atherton

Scriptures used:

  • Proverbs 31
  • Proverbs 12:4
  • 1 Samuel 1:23

Subject:

  • The attributes of a virtuous woman are discussed.
  • The obedience, submission, agape love, and service she does.
  • This chapter is a picture of her conversation.
  • It’s not what we should literally do – considering a field and buying it, for example.
  • It’s the way and the attitude of a woman of service to her household and her husband.
  • Do the first things first, don’t do things that take you away from what you needed to do.
  • Psalms 37:  Delight thyself also in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of thine heart.  You can have quite a list of things to accomplish that you would like to do, one day is the time the Lord gives it to you.  You couldn’t manage to get everything done but the Lord works it out.
  • We get off on our own checklist rather than serving those the Lord has given us to serve.
  • Our pattern of life needs to be changed when we accept the Lord.
  •  We are people whose ways are not His ways, if we submit to Him He will teach us His ways.
  • To walk in the ways of the Lord is what we should do.
  • The testimony of our life rather than the testimony of the Lord.  Failure…whatever our justification is – if we believe God there is nothing we cannot do.
  • We need to have this mind all the time.  Not justify our unbelief.
  • How many times do we not follow that path due to justifications based on lies?
  • Unbelief doesn’t show any fear of God.  When I fear God I want to know what He says and believe and do what He says.
  • That attitude will be the one that girds her loins with strength and strengtheneth her arms.  We justify the opposite.  The Lord will show us this if we’re willing to repent.
  • Sound mind:  a mind that believes the Word of God.
  • We a lot of times don’t believe it and we can’t be strengthened without belief.
  • Esther, stood up with valor.
  • Ruth, in the field receiving provision for the poor with no complaint.
  • Abigail, knew the truth and was practiced in it and instead of her husband she was quick to intercede because she knew the truth.  Had she not done that she would have suffered the same fate as her husband.  She did it with haste.  If she had tarried in it, it would have been too late.
  • Deborah – a judge over all Israel, led Israel into war.
  • Anna, a prophetess, widowed at an early age, got to see Jesus and knew who He was and told those who likewise were looking for the savior.
  • People whose conversation over their lifetimes give testimony.
  • We have a choice every single day.  We have to look at the moment.
  • Have a mighty hope in God, but also fear Him.
  • The time to do that is now, to learn to serve Him and serve Him rightly.
  • Obedience, humbleness.  We are without excuse if we don’t do these things.
  • Many times we try to justify ourselves, we know the truth and we have to decide to do it.
  • No one will make us do it, it is a personal decision required of us.
  • Abigail did good and not evil to her husband.
  • Loyalty to your husband is an attribute.
  • Stand by him in all situations so he knows you are there for him.
  • Trusting in his wife, the husband knows by her conversation that she will do the right thing in every situation and be there for him.
  • The most valuable thing to a man is loyalty in his wife.
  • Pleasing, doing good and not evil all the days of his life.
  • If you go behind your husband’s back and speak ill of him, it is as rottenness in his bones.
  • We have no excuse to not strive to become a virtuous woman
