Subject:

  • The Fear of the Lord.
  • We need to turn from fear of other things, and turn to the right fear which is fearing the Lord.
  • A foundational truth in being the Lord’s, one of his children starts with fearing Him, without it we will not do what it takes to enter into that which He has called us to enter into.
  • You choose to fear the Lord, it doesn’t come naturally.
  • If you apply the things you have heard and the commandments you have received and cry after or seek after knowledge, looking for the Lord as He is a tremendous amount of treasure, then you will understand the fear of  the Lord.
  • It is there and attainable for those who want it.
  • We need to get serious about it, understanding the serious nature and the importance.
  • The fear of the Lord is not a fear that paralyzes you but should provoke you. Some fears paralyze to not moving, but the fear of the Lord is an action kind of fear.
  • It is wrapped up in believing what He says. So if you actually fear Him correctly than you are going to do what He says.
  • It is in the fear of the Lord that you depart from evil and put off everything contrary to His word.
  • In this is where we recognize our utter dependence upon Him.
  • In order to understand the fear of God you have got to get in the Word and know it. GET IN THE WORD!
  • Prayer is also an important element as well. Praying that we hear, believe, understanding and choose to do the word.
  • Obey the people over you in the Lord, if you don’t that is not fearing God. How often do we reject the word of the Lord.
  • If you reject the council of the Lord (authorities) what good is it? We are in disagreement with the word of God all too often. That goes back to that choice to fear the Lord.
  • It’s easy to hear and not do.
  • We need to press in and really become faithful in what God has given us to do in order to hear welcome in my good and faithful servant. If we aren’t pressing we do not fear or believe the Lord.
  • As you have more of the word in you, you can learn to fear the Lord. Again something that we choose.
  • The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride, arrogance, the evil way and the froward mouth.
  • If we think we are great, that is self righteousness there is no way we are going to fear the Lord.
  • Realize He is God and we are not!
  • This bible study is about inciting the fear of the Lord to provoke us to depart from evil. Seek his council through those God has placed over us, do exactly what they say not changing a thing. If we change a thing, we are being wise in our own eyes, thinking our ways are better than the Lord’s
  • It’s easy to envy that which the world exalts. The word says not to do so. We have to keep our minds stayed upon Him. Be mindful of what we feed ourselves throughout the day, be aware and watchful.
  • There is nothing else, FEAR GOD and KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. Love God and Love our neighbor as ourselves. If you fear God you will do so.
  • It is an everyday process that we lay every weight aside. It is a war. Using Paul the apostle as an example.
  • Everyone of the people in Hebrews 11 rose up because they rightly feared the Lord.
  • If we want His mercy than we need to fear Him. When His mercy is what we hope in, He is pleased with that. We can’t hope in His mercy until you recognize you are not God and He is. That is what God asks of us.
  • Admit you are guilty, throw yourself at the mercy of the Lord. In order to receive his mercy we need to recognize we are guilty. Otherwise there is no hope without it.
  • His mercy is there so we can choose Him over and over again. We have to put off us! We can not do it in ourselves only in Him.
  • We find ourselves in bondage’s because of unbelief.
  • Choose the fear of God over all our fears and doubts. We have labor to do, prayers to pray and the word of God to read. It is up to us what we are going to do with it. He will bring us through it.
  • Let us learn to seek Him and His ways. That is love and the receiving of the Love of God.
  • There is no end to benefits in fearing the Lord.
  • If we don’t take heed to instruction then we are in the category of despising instruction, which fools do.
  • Before the Lord can honor you comes humility and that humility never departs because the walk of the Lord is always humble. Humble yourselves before the Lord.
  • Pride is the opposite of humility.
  • Mordecai stood in the fear of the Lord and didn’t shrink back when instructing Esther and as well Esther stood in the fear of the Lord in doing what she was told to deliver the Jews (her people) from death. And because of that there was a great deliverance of their people.
  • If we will stand in Him, He will be manifest. That is our job!  In Him we can do all things! Let’s go forward and seek knowledge, wisdom and to fear the Lord.
